YAY FINALLY DONE I'M SORRY 😭

Requested by mxystica on Ao3!

1. Human name: Olesea Petrenko/Olesea Kyiv (Usually her friends will call her Ola, Sea or Oly, her name is pronounced Oh-li-see-ah btw. Ukraine originally had her "father's" last name (Petrov) but changed it after he died. Although she isn't necessarily fond of her family, she does value family, and kept her name similar to her og family name)

2. Ukraine is a demigirl, which means she only partially identifies as a female (she/they)

3. She's 5'8 (172.72 cm), but wears platforms a lot of the time (to come off as taller)

4. 1 out of her 15 (adoptive) siblings, adopted child to the Soviet Union, biological parent seems to be the Cossack Hetmanate ((I'm not suree-

5. I'd like to say that she owns a spear with the spearhead being the golden trident of the crest of her flag. Is it impractical? Yes. Is it purely decorative? Also yes.

6. Ukraine is most definitely a "dye my hair when I am emotionally in distress" and currently, in her human and CH form, she has shoulder-length platinum/beige-blonde hair. She has purple eyes in her CH form

7. Her human form has blue-green eyes and a decently sized scar near the top-middle of her face and covers a lot of the left side of her face (right if facing her, left from her perspective) but about half or a quarter of her face being covered with bandages, and her hair as an extra layer of security. She hasn't told anyone about what it is, and only some of her siblings know

8. She tends to dress in like a grunge/streetwear style??? Ukraine does dress up for formal events, but her daily outfit consists of cargo pants, a turtleneck, and a hoodie, and usually wears combat boots/sneakers with it. On occasion, Ukraine wears gloves. She sometimes wears dresses/skirts if it's hot out, but tends to prefer maxi dresses/skirts over midi or mini. She also likes wearing silver jewelry

9. She's decently modest, and is ok with showing her shoulders (she wears sleeveless/tank tops a lot) but doesn't like showing a lot of her torso. She is fine with wearing crop tops but prefers full-torso tops

10. She doesn't currently own a pet, but she would like to own a cat or a dog- she's leaning more towards a cat. If she could she would want to own an eagle, but it's also a lot of work trying to own one, etc, etc so she's just going to stick to regular pets

11. Ukraine's personality is similar to Polands', and she tends to speak a decent amount actually. She is usually very quiet around people she doesn't know, aside from the usual small talk, but not because she has social anxiety, but because she just doesn't like talking if she doesn't think it's important enough

12. She doesn't look very scary but she has an attitude. Idk Ukr feels like absolutely no remorse whatsoever about the things she says 😭 she's extremely witty and has a fast tongue, her mouth moves faster than her brain. Although she acknowledges that she needs to work on thinking before she speaks, she doesn't really regret it either way

13. Surprisingly her first resort isn't violence. Although based off her personality, it may seem that way, she tends to want to avoid conflict

14. Would make a great therapist, she can read people's emotions very easily, highly empathetic (just doesn't outwardly show it), observant, etc etc. Although she isn't very confident in her abilities, and second-guesses herself a lot, which is why she doesn't want to enter the psychological field of work

15. A lot of countries swear they've never seen Ukraine show any emotion—she does, but just isn't very expressive. Sometimes she'll think she's smiling when in reality she still has a straight face

16. She loves loves loves listening into drama. Drama and gossip are two of the only things that will make her extremely talkative, even if she's with countries/people she doesn't know well. She has frequent gossip sessions with Poland (who also enjoys this type of stuff)

17. Ukraine is good at making small talk, and can make people feel comfortable around her or make them let their guard down easily. She's a smooth talker, pretty much, and she's able to get information from people without them suspecting anything. Watch what you say around Ukraine y'all

18. Soviet took her in after her parent died, not much was known about her life before her Soviet era. She was closest with the Baltics (Lith especially), Bela, and Moldova (girls gang!!)

19. Soviet never really liked her attitude/rebelliousness, and a lot of things happened to her because of that. Chernobyl, nuclear testing (happened to all or most of the Soviet kids tbh), etc, etc. Despite all this, she does have a photo of the whole family (all 15 kids + Sov) in her house, because as said before, she highly values family

20. Like Lithuania, Poland, and most if not all of the other Soviet kids, not much is known about her childhood, as she purposely keeps it hidden. What happens in the Soviet family stays in the Soviet family

21. After she gained independence, she mainly stayed close to Poland, the Baltics, and Canada although her government started establishing diplomatic relations with other countries as well. She met Pol while he was under Soviet control, and met Canada at a diplomatic meeting with the USA

22. She actually got inspired to dress the way she does through Hungary, she's friends with him, he also dresses in a sort of punk/streetwear/downtown casual style

23. She never really knew much about her parent(s) before Soviet, and constantly visits the graveyard where they're buried. Ukraine usually leaves a bunch of sunflowers, and sometimes mallows (yes, this is a flower. It's beautiful, btw)

24. In her free time, she sort of takes after Soviet in how she also enjoys visiting flower shops/florist's, and looking at the flower bouquets. Ukraine also likes walking in general, and usually just takes really long walks through the rural part of her country. She prefers to be alone, but sometimes she'll go out with her friends to lunch or something, or they'll join her on one of her walks.

25. Her favorite genres of music are techno and instrumental music

26. She recently took up embroidery as a hobby and has a bunch of them just sitting around her room. They're considering buying another bookshelf/shelf/storage thing to put all her embroidery projects into. She likes to embroider flowers the most

27. Ukraine does gymnastics as a sport which she picked up in her childhood. Her and the Soviet kids watched the Olympics a lot when they were younger, and a lot of them picked up sports from there

28. She also most likely sings and is apart of a choir rather than play an instrument. I'm not sure if she would be apart of Vatican's choir, but Poland probably would convince her to join because none of his friends are in the choir

29. They can speak 5 languages, being English, Russian, Ukrainian fluently and knows the basics of Lithuanian + Kazakh

30. Ukraine and Canada are really close friends, and they love taking walks as mentioned in one of the previous headcanons. Ukraine taught Canada how to make flower crowns, and they both spend a lot of time out in nature together

31. They aren't a florist, but likes to pick small flowers on their walks and then tie them together with a blade of grass to sort of make a mini bouquet, which she sometimes keeps in her room or gives them to her friends

32. Most countries use contacts or wear glasses—because they're human, Ukraine uses contacts and glasses, and usually uses her glasses when they're too lazy to put in her contacts

33. I DON'T HAVE A CHARACTER TO COMPARE HER TOO AHHIWFQHABWIPQ

34. Oh actually she reminds me a little of Raiden Shogun/Chiori from Genshin Impact
