A few days later, Austin and Emma returned to the doctor’s office for the biopsy results. They held hands tightly as the doctor entered the room, his expression serious but not grim.

“Mr. and Mrs. Butler, I have good news,” he said, offering a reassuring smile. “The lump is benign. It’s not cancer.”

Relief washed over them like a tidal wave. Emma burst into tears, and Austin hugged her tightly, his own tears of relief mingling with hers.

“Thank you, thank you,” Emma kept repeating, her voice choked with emotion.

The doctor nodded. “We’ll keep an eye on it, but for now, there’s nothing to worry about.”

As they left the office, Austin felt a profound sense of gratitude. He knew how lucky they were, and he silently thanked his mother for watching over them.

That night, as they lay in bed, Emma snuggled close to Austin. “I’m so glad we have each other,” she whispered.

Austin kissed the top of her head. “Me too, Emma. Me too.”
