winter 2023

elodies point of view

after a few days of settling into my new home in california, my time working, well interning for the ducks is starting. i have been pacing around my bedroom for the last 15 minutes as it is sunday night and i have no idea A. what i am supposed to wear and B. if this will all work out and i didn't just move here for no reason

i decide to text lane, she's one of the girls currently working for the ducks and she has been so helpful with this whole internship process

elodie hey lane! sorry for the random text, i was wondering if you had any idea for what i should wear for my interview tomorrow? thank you so much

lane ellie hi! no worries for texting i did the same thing. when i interviewed i wore a black dress with a jacket over. and my doc martins. but for the actual internship you'll find yourself in athletic clothes for most of it. good luck tomorrow!

that relieved a great chunk of my stress but i still could not shake my worry. so i do what i always resort to, go for a run. throwing on some shorts and a sports bra and walk out my bedroom door to jamie and trevor on the couch

"hey im going for a run i will be back in a bit" i say as i slide on my hokas

"will you be okay? do you need one of us to come with you? or both of us? i could really up my cardio" trevor starts to get up off the couch before i have to shoo him away from bombarding my personal time

"im okay trevor, ill only be gone an hour at most. and i'll have my phone on me if you need to contact me" i hold up my phone to show him

"okay but if there is any weirdos please call me or jamie we will be there as soon as possible"

"trevor i can take care of myself don't worry" he gives me a side eye and a quick okay before im out the door

i run until i am basically seeing stars, which is usually the sign for me to stop running. which also luckily ended me right back to our house. leading me to walk back in through the front door and plop my sweaty self onto the couch, still catching my breath

"how was the run?" jamie's falls next to me on the couch

"it was good i am sleepy now" i say as my head falls onto his shoulder

"we gotta get you to bed before your big day tomorrow" he places his hand on my thigh lightly squeezing it out of excitement "what can we make for dinner before you go to bed?"

"i think im just gonna shower and go to sleep im not that hungry right now" i look at him with a smile "thank you though"

"of course ellie bear. now go you're stinkin' up the whole living room"

"stop it" i jokingly frown while shoving his shoulder

the bathroom is my worst nightmare personally. i dread showering for the soul purpose that i have to take my clothes off and look in the mirror. always taking a few extra minutes to examine and pick apart every inch that covers my skin. as i'm doing so i notice a slight red color across my cheeks. am i blushing?
