fall

it was elodie's first official day of college at OU. she'd finished moving into her first dorm room, who she was lucky enough to be sharing with her best friend tate. elodie had her first practice of the season with her new team. who'd all been amazing to her and all the new ou cheerleaders. she was excited. the smell of the passing summer and new fall air got her hopes high for her first year in college. getting to spend it with her best friend made everything better. it was the comfort she needed moving to a new state.

elodie's point of view

i entered my final class for the day, it was an exercise science class. i would be lying if i didn't say i was nervous. my first two classes were just general basic classes but this is what i want to do for a living. making the class scarier for me. it was smaller than my other two classes. having only around probably 20 students, where as the other classes were pretty big in size as they were both in huge lecture halls.

as i'm sat in one of the seats, a tall brunette walks up to the seat next to mine, don't know what struck his fancy considering there are still a lot of seats open anywhere else.

"is this seat taken?"  he asks

"uh no it's not" i smiled as he removes his backpack and sits next to me

"i'm leo, it's nice to meet you"

"elodie, nice to meet you too. are you a freshman?"

"elodie? i like it, and no i am a junior" he says making my cheeks flush a slight pink shade

"what brings you to this class?" i ask genuinely wondering

"well i'm a sports management major, but my minor is in sports medicine and let's just say i have been putting those classes off. what about you?"

i giggle slightly at his relatable procrastination "i get it, i'm a sports medicine major. hoping to become an athletic trainer" i say as a cross me fingers "do you play any sports?"

"you must be a freshman, i've played for our football team every year. coach says i have nfl ability"

"wow well i guess i'll be seeing you at all the games" i say with a smirk

"oh yeah? can't wait"

after the class ended everyone packs up, leo turns to me again

"do you think i could get your snap? just in case we have you know assignments together or whatever"
he asks pulling out his phone. am i making my first friend? i wouldn't mind being friends with him he's one fine man

"yeah of course" he hands me his phone so i can type my username into his phone.

"thanks see you next class!"
he smiles as we walk out, going our separate ways.

i pull my phone out to call tate, knowing i won't see her until way later tonight as i'm too excited to wait and share my exciting news for later.

"hey el what's up? how were your classes?"

"they were so good! this really cute junior sat by me in my exercise science class. he plays for the football team and he asked for my snapchat!"

"awe ellie that's so exciting, what's his name?"

"it's leo.. i'm not sure what his last name is though"

"like leo harmon!? el i love you but like the whole volleyball team talks about how bad of a guy he is.."

"it's not like we are going to date or anything! we're just classmates"

"okay el well just be careful, i'm heading to practice i'll see you tonight love you!"

"love you lynny!"

she hung up as she walked into their shared dorm, crashing on her mattress.

boring first chapter but aye we are here are not. i PROMISE it will get more interesting i actuakky hate slow burn so much but i feel like we need some background or nothing will make sense please just stick with me here🙏😔💔
