THE SANDWICH PALS (johnnyboy)

J-MOUNTAIN.

The sixth stop.
(PONYBOYS POV)

We had stopped once more as jhonny said,

"Five."

Johnny was never all that smart, but her was never dumb. Johnny had stopped going to school for a few years now. He dropped out about eight months ago. my mom always helped two-bit and Johnny with their homework. along with the rest of us, soda and dally struggled the hardest though.

Johnny and me had moved towards the door. Waiting for our stop, Johnny stuck his head out.

"Get ready pony."

I watched carefully. Waiting for Johnnys move. He counted from three. He got to one and jumped, I shortly followed right after.

As we tumbled down the hill, we came to a stop. I rubbed my head in pain, as I sat up looking for Johnny.

"johnny? you alright?"

I said finally seeing him. I stood up, walking over to johnny I put my hand out to help him. I pull him too his feet, I look at johnny getting lost in his eyes.

"w-what? do I got something on my faces..?"

JOHNNYS POV

ponboy was staring at me for a while now. when I spoke he seemed to snap out of a trance or something. I looked down embarrassed. realizing we wer holding hands for quite some time now. my face felt hot, as i could see ponys ears go red. i giggled, and pony looked at me funny.

"whats the matter j-johnnycake.?"

i shook my head. ponyboy let go of my hand embarrassed, his ears a bright pink. i laughed it off.

"p-pony your ears are pink!!"

i managed to say between laughs. I started to move, before noticing something was wrong almost immediately. my leg ached horribly. I had a limp, I bent over picking up a big stick. I used the stick to help me walk, it may not have been fast but it sure got me moving. me and pony may have just walked a marathon. we finally came up to some workers.

"well pony go ask them where J-mountain is." I said

"why me.? do I look like a farm boy to you johnny?" he spat back.

ponyboy finally walked towards them. and in a few minutes he walked back to me.

"just up this road. they said well see it for sure." he said softly.

we started walking once again, we reached the top of J-mountain. we saw the church a little while away, so me and pony kept moving.
