Vinnie and Dean were sitting in a restaurant-bar combo, waiting for Sam to show up and share the information he got.

The two felt like things had been relatively resolved, yet Vinnie hadn't fully forgiven him and Dean still felt guilty.

Sam entered the small building and started to walk towards the table they were sitting at.

Vinnie took a sip of the milkshake she had ordered and scooped up some of the whipped cream on her straw, licking it off with her tongue. Dean cleared his throat and said, "I'll be right back..." Then quickly got up and made a beeline towards the men's restroom.

Vinnie raised an eyebrow, "What was that all about?"

Sam's lips straightened into a line and he said nothing, beginning digging through his bag and pulling out some news articles, then laying them out on the table.

Dean came back a few minutes later, stopped to talk to the female bartender and came back to the table. He had a napkin with a phone number on it. Sam and Vinnie took notice of this and Vinnie let out a soft sigh.

"You mind doing a little bit of thinking with your upstairs brain, Dean?" Sam commented, looking at his brother.

"Whatever," Dean sighed, shooting his brother a glare. Sam responded with a beckon towards Vinnie who was picking at the skin by her nails. Dean looked back at his brother, confused. Then Sam glanced down at the napkin.

Sam was sick of Dean being oblivious to absolutely every cue that Vinnie had feelings for him. While it wasn't right for him to just point it out, Dean had to figure it out sometime.

It was this moment that Dean finally got the hint, "Doesn't matter." He shrugged, "I only asked for her number because I was bored and felt like doing some prank calls." Dean remarked, tearing up the napkin and placing it in Vinnie's, now empty, milkshake cup.

She looked up and locked eyes with him, he shot her a smirk. Vinnie quickly looked away and went back to fiddling with her hands.

"Anyways, what did you figure out?" Dean asked, looking back at Sam.

"Not much," He replied, "Some weird symbols, but they weren't in Dad's notebook, so I guess we're just going to have to dig deeper."

Vinnie found herself zoning out as Sam and Dean went over the information they had at hand.

Sam looked behind Dean intently all of sudden. "What?" Dean asked, looking at his brother with confusion.

Sam then stood up and walked over to where he had been looking. This brought Vinnie out of her thoughtless gaze as her and Dean got up to go follow Sam.

Sam tapped a blonde woman on the shoulder, she turned around and smiled when she saw him.

His eyes widened slightly, "Meg?"

She grinned wider, "Sam!"

Vinnie looked at Dean, "Wait, that's Meg?"

Meg had been mentioned before, Sam met her after a fight with Dean which resulted in Sam going off on his own.

Immediately Vinnie grew on edge, something about Meg was wrong. Very wrong. Her presence was dark and dreadful, Vinnie could almost see darkness surrounding the woman.

Dean picked up on Vinnie's sudden tense energy. "What's up?" He asked, "Talk to me, Vin."

"I don't trust her." She said, staring straight at Meg with a cold gaze. "Somethings wrong."

Dean looked at Meg, he didn't notice anything weird about her at first glance, but he took Vinnie's hand in his, "I believe you." He told her, giving her hand a small squeeze. He led the two of the forwards, behind Sam.

Meg was talking on and on about California while the hole in Vinnie's stomach began to deepen.

Dean cleared his throat, attempting to guide Sam's attention to him and Vinnie. Yet, the two paid him no mind and continued to chat.

"Gosh, Sam. What are the odds we'd run into each other?" She said, grinning up at Sam.

Vinnie's brows furrowed, "Yeah..." She said, cutting into their conversation with a protective and new-bound aggression, "What are the odds?"

Dean immediately took notice of Vinnie's sudden protectiveness over Sam, it must've been the big-sister in her. If Dean was being honest, he liked this shockingly aggressive side of Vinnie, one he hadn't seen before. It made him feel weird...

Meg now looked at Vinnie, straight in the eyes. "Oh, sorry, I didn't properly introduce myself... I'm Vinnie, a very close friend of Sam's." Vinnie said, letting go of Dean's hand and holding out her hand, Meg shook it, taking the bait.

The moment Meg's hand came into contact with Vinnie's, images of blood, black smoke and all things dark flooded her mind. A small gasp escaped her lips and she brought her hand back to her chest quickly.

Meg looked confused, yet moved past it quickly. Dean cleared his throat once more, prompting Meg to say, "Dude.. cover your mouth."

Sam turned slightly and looked to see an annoyed Dean. "I'm Dean, Sam's brother."

"Oh! This is Dean?" Meg said, with almost a false tone of surprise. Vinnie's eyes narrowed, who was this girl?

"So you've heard of me?" Dean asked, sounding slightly annoyed.

Meg nodded, "Oh, yeah, I've heard of you. Nice--The way you treat your brother like luggage."

"Sorry?" Dean said, looking confused as to what she was referencing. Vinnie raised an eyebrow, her eyes shifting between Sam and Meg.

"Why don't you let him do what he wants to do? Stop dragging him over God's green earth." She replied, a harsh tone arising in her voice.

"Meg... it's alright..." Sam said, trying to de-escalate the situation.

Vinnie shook her head and put her head in her hands, while Meg was partially correct, Dean had been a bit better about it lately.

Dean let out a soft whistle, "Awkward... I'm gonna go get a drink now... C'mon Vinnie." He grabbed Vinnie by the hand once more and led her away.

Dean went up to the bar and asked for a shot, downing it right after it was poured.

"You okay?" Vinnie asked.

"Dandy." He replied with a fake smile. Vinnie placed a hand on his shoulder, "You know I bet Sam was just blowing off steam. It's pretty basic for siblings..."

Dean nodded, sighing and glancing at her. Vinnie gave him a soft smile that made him feel funny. Vinnie then looked around, "Let's get out of here, it's packed."

-

Sam, Dean and Vinnie made their way towards the Impala. "Who the hell was she?" Dean questioned his brother, clearly still heated about the situation inside.

"I don't really know. I only met her once." Sam replied.

Dean hit his brother on the arm gently, "Meeting up with her again?" Vinnie looked at Dean and shook her head, something about Meg was

"I don't know man, it's weird." Sam replied.

Vinnie sighed, "Agreed." Then sped ahead of the two boys and stopped beside the car, wiggling her finger at Moth who put his paws up against the window in the backseat.

The two boys behind her began going into an argument about what Sam said about Dean to Meg, Vinnie ignored it.

Once the conversation turned back to how odd the situation was, given Sam had met Meg on the side of the road it was suspicious that she was suddenly in the same area of Chicago as the three of them, Vinnie turned around, "It is strange." She said, taking a step towards them.

"There's something wrong with her," Vinnie went on, "I don't... I don't think she's human, Sam..."
