The trio made their way downtown, assuming that'd be their best bet on tracking down the girlfriend of the victim. The victim's name was Troy, his girlfriend was named Amy. Moth trotted along Vinnie's side.
"I bet you must be Amy." Dean said, as the three walked up to the girl.
"Yeah," she replied, pinning up missing persons posters. Vinnie immediately took account of the amount of missing persons posters, there was a whole bunch of various men.
"Troy told us about you, we're his uncles. I'm Dean and this is Sammy. And this," Dean wrapped his arm around Vinnie, pulling her close, "is his new auntie Vinnie, my wife."
Vinnie tensed up in Dean's arms, glancing at Sam quickly, then relaxed in order to act along with him.
"How do you do?" Vinnie smiled, shaking Amy's hand then elbowing Dean in the ribcage when the girl glanced away.
"He never mentioned you guys to me." Amy replied, walking the other way to put up more posters.
Dean sighed, "Well, that's Troy I guess. We're not around much, we're up in Modesto..."
Sam butted into the conversation, "So.. We're looking for him, too, and we're kind of asking around."
Another girl came into view, she had a similar alternative style to Amy's. "Hey, are you okay?"
"Yeah." Amy replied.
"Is it cool if we ask you a couple of questions? We are just really worried about Troy." Vinnie pleaded, Amy obliged.
-
Vinnie was squished in between Sam and Dean in a booth inside of a restaurant, moth was resting on her lap.
"I was on the phone with Troy, he was driving home." Amy said, "He said he would call me right back, and he never did."
"He didn't say anything strange or out of the ordinary?" Sam questioned.
"No, nothing I can remember..." Amy sighed, glancing at her friend.
"Here's the deal ladies, the way Troy disappeared - - somethings not right." Dean explained, looking between the two girls, "So if you've heard anything...?"
The girl's shared a look, Vinnie caught on quickly. "What have you two heard?" She asked.
Amy's friend began to speak, "Well, it's just - - I mean, with all these guys going missing, people talk."
"What do they talk about?" Sam and Dean asked at the same time, gaining a quiet snicker from Vinnie.
"It's kind of this local legend..." The girl continued, now Vinnie was intrigued, "This one girl, she got murdered out on Centennial like decades ago. Well, supposedly, she's still out there. She hitchhikes and whoever picks her up - - well, they disappear forever."
The trio all shared a look, Dean and Sam scrambled to get out of the booth, tumbling over Vinnie as they did so.
Vinnie thanked both girls for their time and headed off, Moth following close behind her.
Vinnie made her way toward Dean's car and got into the passenger's seat, Moth jumped up onto her lap.
"So, we should probably head to the local library, right? I mean, there's gotta be information there." Vinnie suggested, looking at both boys.
Sam nodded, "I agree, that's our best bet."
Dean started the car and turned up the radio, "So... the library it is."
