New Jersey

I slept with Matt's comfort for about 4 hours with 2 to go(I don't have any concept of time and I know that New Jersey probably wasn't the next stop but oh well don't hate). Jack J was writing something down in a notebook.
I had woken up with a new mindset and ready to make friends with Shawn again. I guess I would start over.

I pulled up my music and listened to his whole album. I have to admit, I don't think I'll ever be as successful as him. He had many fans and support where as I'm just "the Magcon wannabe", as the Twitter comments said.
Speaking of Twitter, I decided to tweet something. I took a picture of a sleeping Matt and posted it with the caption,
@ItsMattEspinosa aww he looks so cute!😊

I chuckled at myself and put my phone away. Jack was furiously writing, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. "Whatcha writing?" I asked. He jumped a little but then relaxed as he calmed down.
"Oh, just lyrics to a rap, I guess." he said shrugging while looking down at his work. I didn't really know that he was a rapper.

"Oh that's cool. I didn't know you were a rapper." I confessed.
"Yeah. The other Jack and I are kind of a duo. We don't have a lot out but it's doing okay." His eyes seems tired just thinking about his nonexistent fame.
"I'm sure you guys are great." I reassured him. He gave me a weak smile.

"Thanks." He paused for a moment. "Hey, can you read this and see if it's okay?" I passed me the notepad and this is what it said.

When the tide hits you straight in the face
Life is getting harder treading water, got nowhere to go
And as the time slips away, day by day
Stranded in the ocean, every open door has now been closed

Deadbolt locked, no escape
Feeling like an outcast, so out of place
And I know the tides might take you away
But don't you worry there's no hurry for tomorrow
'Cause today's still young

I read it over then passed it back to Jack. "That's gonna be a great song." He smiled and thanked me and went back to writing.
I had fallen asleep again because the next thing I heard was the sound of Matt breathing.

I was woken up by a flight attendant in an ugly uniform. "Excuse me miss, we are landing soon." She said in a fake voice.
"Okay. Thanks." I said, sitting up. Matt was awake as well and was glaring at me. "Hi?" I said to him.

"Why'd you have to post this horrible picture of me?" He whined and showed me the picture of him that I took when he was sleeping. I smirked.
"Because it was adorable." His cheeks flared red and I laughed at it. He turned away from me and pouted for a while. "Matthew Lee Espinosa!" I shouted really loudly in his ear.

He jumped and I laughed. "Are you trying to give me more reasons to hate you?" He grumbled.
"Jeez. Someone's grumpy when they wake up from their nap." I joked. He just glared at me. I held both hands up. "Okay, I'm done. We're landing soon anyway."

He went back to being grumpy and on the other side of me, Johnson was rocking out to some music in his own little world. I turned around to see who was behind me. Nash, Cam and Hayes were all talking quietly. "Psst. Guys." I said, trying to get their attention.
They all looked at me and Nash immediately smiled. "What?" He asked, leaning forward in his seat.

"I'm bored." I said. He leaned back and rolled his eyes.
"We're landing soon! Can you wait like 5 minutes? Just read a book or listen to music or something!" He said. I groaned softly.

"I didn't bring any books, my phone's low on charge and Matt and Jack are both doing something else." I said, suddenly sounding exasperated and whiny.
"Girl, you got problems." Cameron said in a funny voice. I laughed and nodded.
"Sad but true. Story of my life." I shrugged and turned back around.

Finally, finally. We landed and I was the first off of that plane. I was a bit claustrophobic and being in the air didn't help. I took a deep breath of fresh air and went to the baggage claim with Hayes. "So. What's up with you, Little Man?" I asked, using the nickname I had given him.
He glared at me. "I'm almost at tall as you." he reasoned. I laughed.
"Yeah, but it makes me feel better about myself if I know that I'm not the inferior one." I explained. He just stared at me blankly.

"Yeah okay." He said, obviously not wanting to understand big words at this ungodly hour. It was about 1:30 in the morning. We kept walking. I met the rest of the boys at the gate with my luggage.

"Are we all ready?" Bart said when counting to see if we were all here. "Okay, let's go." We all traveled to the limo and went to the hotel in New Jersey.

The car ride was incredulously awkward for me. The rest for the boys were loud and obnoxious as usual. I had to sit next to Shawn. He wasn't making any effort to talk to me. I shifted and tried to make small talk. "So, how are you?" I asked. He gave me a glance out of the corner of his eye.
"Good. You?" He asked, leaning onto his knees.
"Good." I responded. "Working on any music lately?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"It's hard to make time to get into the studio." He said.

And that was the last of my conversation with Shawn Mendes.

A/N: okay I know it's a short filler chapter but I couldn't think of any ideas.
