TORI'S POV:
The funeral went by fast, as did my tears. My sister's speech was good, but a little halfhearted. She never had a close relationship with my mother like I had. I kept stealing glares at the 10 boys across the room. Sure they were hot, but I don't know if they're good people yet. Well, okay. I do kind of like that one with the piercing blue eyes and soft dark hair. But I don't even think he likes me, much less knows my name.
And now that Alli's got a man, I need to step up my game. I listened to the rest of the speeches and songs but not really paying attention.I internally scolded myself for being so heartless. This is my mother's funeral! I should be sad, not bored. Finally, it was over. I immediately stood up and brushed off my skirt. Allison and I had to go home and get changed then meet the boys at the hotel for the event called Magcon, whatever that stands for. My sister and I walked out to our car. I tried not to look at the huge group of rowdy teenage boys, also known as my sister's new friend choice. "Come on Alli." I said coldly. I wasn't one to be attracted to the bad boys and that's not starting now.
We drove home in silence. It gave me time to think. Ever since I came back from living in London for a couple years, my accent is slowly going away. But I will go back once Allison's gone. I had come to see her off with my mum a month ago and I had stayed with dad. I wasn't planning on staying this long in America. I guess my neighbors, Caspar and Joe, wouldn't really remember to get my mail. That's usual for them.
I pulled into our driveway and turned off the ignition. I unlocked the door to our house, dad still missing. He hadn't shown up to the funeral, which really bothered me. I stepped into our house and a rush of cold flushed my body with goosebumps. "Jeez, why is it so cold in this house?" I muttered. Allison didn't answer, she just pushed past me and up the stairs.
I went up to my room to change out of my black clothes. I put on some skinny jeans and a magenta tank top with a big cream sweater. I pulled on my brown Doc Martins. I braided my brown hair to the side and touched up my makeup. I knocked three times on Allison's door. "C'mon Alli. We gotta go." No response and I got worried. "Alli?" I said softly as I pushed open the door. She was sitting cross-legged on the center of her bed. Her face was blank with no expression. I don't think she was even blinking.
"What's the matter?" I asked. She raised her head up to me and blinked, getting teary-eyed.
"I don't deserve Shawn. God, he's been so good to me and I've done nothing but crap. I haven't been to any of his concerts or gotten him presents or anything. He's always been the one who supported this whole relationship." She was getting into hysterics as I pulled her into a hug.
"You do deserve him, after going through things with mum over the years. Just find ways to make him feels special. And when all else fails, just kiss him to remind him why you like each other." I told her and she laughed.
"Let's go. I wanna see my favorite boys."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
We arrived at the hotel and we were both eager to see them. It was something about the gravitational pull I had to the blue eyed one. We both walked into the hotel and into the elevator. I tapped my fingers nervously against the side of my leg. What would the boys think of me? Would they ignore me? Questions ran marathons in my head as the elevator let out a pleasant ding, signaling that we arrived on their floor. Allison walked to a room with confidence and ease. I followed behind nervously. She gave a quick little knock.
"Open up Cam!" She called. Who's Cam? Probably the tall one. The door swung open to reveal the one called Cameron. He was drool-worthy, it's true. I could basically see the muscles through his shirt. I tried my best not to stare or drool, for that matter."Hey guys! Tori, are you coming to the event too?" He asked. He seems pretty friendly.
"Yeah, I mean, I want to see what you guys do." I told him in a fake causality. On the inside, butterflies were wreaking some serious havoc.
"Cool. You can come in, Nash is just in the bathroom. Unless, she wants to see Shawn." He said directly to Alli, who immediately blushed.I laughed at her face and so did Cam. He seems like the kind of guy that you want to be friends with. He then turned to me. "Wanna come in?" He asked. I nodded and Alli went off to find Shawn. Little bugger, leaving me here alone with all these handsome boys.
The first thing I noticed was the messiness. I sat down on the bed, trying to avoid what looked like shaving cream. "So, what is this event?" I asked him. Yeah, yeah. Call me a newborn.
"Well, it stands for Meet and Greet convention and 9 other boys and I meet fans and preform or do other crazy stuff." He explained about how they were all discover on Vine, an app that creates 6 second video clips.I just nodded in understanding. When he finished, he glanced at me. "Why'd you want to come?" He asked. "Do you not trust us?" He said. But I could tell he was only half anxious.
I sighed. No holding back now. "Well it's partially that. But she's been a little unstable since mum died. I don't know if you guys are good guys yet." I told him. He nodded, looking more relaxed.
But then. He walked out of the bathroom.
A/N: so this is going to be a subplot in the story with Tori and Nash. It took me a while to adjust to writing in Tori's POV. I've been really busy lately with going to North Carolina and my show. But till next chapter. Byeeee🌛
