I met the rest of the boys in the lobby. Not all of them were here yet, Matt hadn't come back to the room last night and Shawn and Nash were still probably getting ready.
I hung around with the Jacks, Cameron and Hayes while we waited for them. "So, I have a riddle." Jack G turned to us. "When is a door not a door?" He asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows and a lightbulb went off. A slow, creepy grin made its way onto my face. They had used this in Teen Wolf. "When it's ajar." I said. Jack smirked.
"Very good, young grasshopper." He said. "Everyone has it, but no one can lose it." He prompted.

"A shadow." I smoothly replied. I hadn't noticed Cam, JJ and Hayes staring at me. "What? Is it a crime to know riddles nowadays?" I defended myself.

I played Flappy Bird for a while when finally the rest of the boys came down the elevator. Shawn walked out last, hanging his head down. No one seemed to notice but me. Matt looked infuriated and Nash looked scared and innocent, which is different than his usual goofy exterior.
I hadn't noticed the bruise forming on Shawn's eye until we were on our way to the event.

The rest of the boys were rowdy and yelling, per the norm. But Shawn was staring at his hands, not to mention that they were shaking profusely. "Shawn." I whispered. He ignored me.
I grabbed his hands in mine. "Shawn." I tried again. That got his attention. "What happened to your face?" I asked softly, gently brushing my fingers over it. I saw him wince and my forehead creased with worry.

"It's nothing. Just, uh, hit it on a corner." He said quickly. But I saw him look left, a sure-fire sign of lying. I gave him a sad look.
"Shawn, what really happened?" I asked him, still keeping a quiet tone. I didn't want to make a scene. "Who did this to you? One of the guys?" I asked. He hadn't hung out with anyone but the guys, so there is no other option.

"Nothing! No one!" He quickly defended. "I'm fine." He pulled his hands away from mine. A look of hurt flashed across my face.
"Then how are you going to explain that bruise to the fans? They already know everything about you, so your lies wouldn't cut it." I crossed my arms and stared out the window. I can't help him if he's pushing himself away. "Come to the bathroom with me when we get there." I told him.
I felt his eyes land on the back of my head. "Just do it!" I told him, getting frustrated.

We halted to a stop and people started piling out of the car, one by one. I pulled Shawn by the hand into the bathroom. Thankfully, it was empty because we had gotten here early. I set my bag on the counter and started rummaging through it. "What are you doing? I don't think I'm supposed to be in here." He looked very stressed about breaking the rules. I gave him a look.

"Dude. Chill. I'm just trying to find some makeup to cover that up." I said, motioning to the bruise.  I pulled out a concealer compact and pointed to the counter. "Sit." I commanded him.
He sat on the counter and I swiped the brush with the concealer. "This might hurt a little." I warned. I lightly brushed the makeup on his face. I saw him wince and I stopped.

"I'm fine." He told me. "Thank you Allison." He said once I was done. He hopped down from the counter and I noticed the height difference. Yikes.
He was like a giant compared to me. Almost a whole foot taller. I brushed my hand over his face, blending it in. He took my hand in his and pulled me close to his chest. I looked down and resisted from sniffing him.

"I know it was Matt." I whispered, so soft that he didn't hear me.
    "What?" He asked in confusion.

"I know it was Matt that did that to you." I said, pointing out the only flaw in his perfect face. "But I still don't know why..." I trailed off, hoping he would answer me.

"I have to go." He shook his head a little and exited the bathroom. I was left there, dazed and confused. I just packed up my stuff and went to the big room where the event was being held.

I wandered around while the boys took selfies and signed things for fans. I was about to go see Nash when I ran  into someone. "Oh I'm so sorry!" I said to the girl. She was blonde with blue eyes and about the same height as me.
"No, I'm sorry, I wasn't watching." She said. "You here for the Magcon boys too?" She asked, jerking a thumb around her shoulder at the crowds.

"I'm on tour with them helping out." I explained. Then her eyes lit up, like she had an epiphany.

"Oh! You're Allison! I've seen your videos and you were that girl in Nash's QandA." She said. I laughed and nodded awkwardly. "Well, I gotta go. It was nice meeting you!" She called after she walked away.

I smiled to myself and walked over to Nash and came up behind him, resting an arm on his shoulder. "You have nice fans." I told him.
"Yeah, I know. They're the best." He continued signing and greeting. I walked around some more, visited Cam and Taylor. I found Shawn's eyes and he gave me a cheeky wink. I smiled back at him, my cheeks flushing red.

I don't know what this is. He needs to give me a clear sign for once in his damn life.
