Hello Dear Gentle Readers

I know this was supposed to be the second last chapter of The Past part but I didn't wanted to mix to different emotions ( Love & Heart break ) So I am publishing it as two different chapters.

I will publish the next chapter soon.

Happy Reading

I walk from one end of the room to the other

I walk from one end of the room to the other. Not knowing where Aarna is. She told me she was coming back soon after dinner so I just didn't give it much of a thought. It's past closing time within minutes the warden will be coming to check on us before locking the front door.

Veer and Madhav have changed since they both came back after Veer's father's funeral. Just like I expected Madhav made sure no one approached Veer, even when they were trying to offer their condolences. He made sure no one reminded or even talked about it.

It was like Veer just disappeared for everyone and along with him Madhav. Where he went Madhav went and where he refused to go which was almost everywhere Madhav also didn't go.

And I am so proud of him for being such a good brother to him. An anchor in Veer's life. Even if Madhav's grief is nothing in comparison to Veer's he misses his uncle.

I never seen him cry. Until the day he came back and we met in the computer lab. I can't wipe the image of him breaking down in front of Me.

He hugged me and cried like the world had ended. He cried for his mother who lost her only brother. For his brother and best friend Veer who lost his father. For Veer's mother and at last for himself. From each and every word he said about him it became clear how close he was with his uncle.

If a man cries, he isn't showing you that he is weak and vulnerable but he is brave enough to feel his emotions. That he has a very kind and pure heart. And if he cries in front of you, you should consider yourself the luckiest person. That he has chosen you to show the side of him that he hides from the world. The real him.

Things between us haven't changed much in the last month. The exam pressure is at its peak but still, we met once a day and talked trying to get things back to normal. Like they were.

The knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts. I know it's the warden. The clock is showing Nine already. Damn, Aarna where are you. No one is allowed to even step outside the dorm after eight-thirty and no one to enter after nine.

All sorts of punishments are there from cleaning the toilet and bathroom of all the rooms on the entire floor to washing all the utensils after dinner including the one in which the food is made which is massive.

Even if Aarna is a favorite of the Dorm staff and our teachers she won't be exempted from the punishment. If Aarna is given even one punishment, when she will be studying for tomorrow's external practical exam. And she might lose her chance for the Best Student of the Year award.
