Amalie is the protagonist of the first book Castlevania: Of Darkness and Light, where she is the the main POV.
She is the wife of Alucard.
She is the mother of Valerius ( her eldest son by Aurelius), Emmaline, and Aiden ( an orphaned boy she adopted after the end of the first book)
Her official human name in Of Darkness and Light is Amelia. At the time of writing that story I hadn't yet come up with a name for her and let the readers choose their own like in a reader insert. When I figured out her name, I decided to leave that aspect in because it was well received and the readers could still interpret her their own way.
She still wears Alucard's wedding ring in France, so the townspeople know she is married. She has a small portrait of her husband in her house so guests can see it (most humans don't know what Alucard looks like, let alone know he exists). If they ask where he is, she says he is away.
Being an angel, she can speak and understand every human language and dialect fluently.
She can read and write in every human language. This knowledge was retained by her because her sister Penemue (Penny) taught her.
Angels can shift their accents to wherever they're residing to better blend into the human population. In- universe Amalie speaks in native French.
Amalie learned much about medicine from the knowledge of Dracula's Castle, her mother-in-law's medical journals, and from the Archangel Raphael. (One of the few 'bigwigs' that liked her, and supported her.)
She is the Patron Guardian Angel of the Belmont family and has watched over them for centuries.
She loves pastries.
Her favorite food is bacon.
She is a talented singer, but can't dance for the life of her.
She's not a fan of the Monarchy but remains neutral in the Revolution because the Miracle Makers are forbidden to intervene/ contribute in human conflicts.
Nevertheless, she supports Maria and her revolutionaries.
She went to Versailles with Jocasta many years ago, wasn't a big fan.
She moved to Machecoul four years after Tera arrived.
She still has her Glaring Cloak, inside a trunk under her bed. It's been years since she's used it.
