### 1 Week later…

### Arohi…

Today is finally the day when we have to give the presentation in Uragen Technology, I was so nervous and tense as this is my first time giving a presentation at such a big company. We reached there an hour before the meeting was scheduled to recheck and verify the thing again because as far as we have heard from others, Mr. Rudra Singhania doesn’t like any mistakes and wants everything to be perfectly done.

I was already feeling nervous and tense, and now these phone calls from home are making me restless. I had already told them that I was coming tonight, but I don’t know why they are not understanding. This whole week has been difficult because of the meeting planning and pressure from home, and today it’s getting worse. I was preparing for a presentation when my phone started ringing.

I excused myself and went to the staircase area to answer the call. This time, my uncle was talking to me and said that he had arranged a marriage for me and that I only needed to meet the guy. I was shocked and upset. I hung up the call and burst into tears. I had been holding myself together all week, but today I just couldn’t control it. After 5-10 minutes, I relaxed, went to the washroom, washed my face, and then started preparing for the presentation again.

After 1hr it was finally the time when the meeting started. We all were sitting in the large meeting room where the large round table was placed in the center of the room along with chairs and the main chair was for Mr. Rudra Singhania lived up to his name; I had already imagined him to be a rude and arrogant person. As we all waited for him, he finally arrived and everyone stood up to greet him. He simply nodded, we sat, and he said, “Let’s start the meeting,” and so the meeting began.

As the meeting progressed, I couldn't help but glance at him and notice how well put together he was, despite his rude and arrogant demeanor, which was evident in his body language and aura. His well-groomed hair, features, and muscular physique looked impeccable in his Armani suit and struggling white shirt buttons. His left hand rested on his jaw, showcasing his sharp jawline. I scolded myself for paying too much attention to him. I hoped he hadn't noticed me checking him out. Stupid me.

During my turn for the presentation, I noticed that he was looking at me intensely. I wondered *if he caught me checking him out or if I was doing something wrong.* I brushed off my thoughts and continued. As the presentation ended, he finally passed the project and I was so happy. Now I can take a rest, or so I thought. However, I had to go back home today, so there's no time to relax.

Everything ended peacefully and now we are going to start working on the project from next week. I reached home took my luggage and other necessities and left for my home.

In-Home

I reached my home and met everyone, we sat together have several arguments about how could they do this to me without my permission but the only response I got from my uncle and dad was “Now it’s your age to get married, otherwise you won’t find a good guy.” I looked towards my mom and she was also helpless.

I know why my uncle is doing all this because he wants the property that my grandparents left for me and he wants that I just can’t understand how could he be so greedy that he can do anything for that property, it’s not like I want money or that property but it’s just that there was so many emotion of me and my grandparents were attached that I just couldn’t let it go like this. I just couldn’t understand how he convinced my dad and that guy, What was his name *Rikshit….*There must be something going on between my Uncle and Rikshit’s family.

After all the arguments and discussion, we concluded that I was going to meet Rikshit tomorrow. Later, I talked to my mom and she told me that my uncle suddenly brought up the proposal and Dad agreed without any questions or concern. He must have sugar-coated my dad like always.

Right now, I am in my room looking blankly at Rikshit’s photo and thinking he is good but nothing compared to Mr. Rudra Singhania. He has everything a girl wants in their husband. Wait… Why am I thinking about him? You are going crazy after all this. You need to sleep. I kept the photo aside and looked blankly at the ceiling, thinking that it was not like I didn’t want marriage, but I always wanted a love marriage or at least to be married to a guy I knew. But here… it’s going the opposite. Sleep Arohi, just meet him tomorrow and see what is gonna happen next… With this thought, my eyes got heavy, and I didn’t know when sleep consumed me.
