Tapping my feet on the floor under the table, scrolled my Instagram, and waited for Rikshit, for the last 1 hour. My Dad and uncle told me to meet him in the restaurant but there had been no sign of him for the last one hour. Getting irritated from all this, I called Dad.
### On Call
Ringing….
Dad: What happened..? is everything alright…?
Me: No, nothing is okay. I am not going to marry a guy who doesn’t know how to value other’s time. I have been waiting for him for from last hour and he just doesn’t care.
Dad: Relax beta… He must be getting stuck in traffic or other stuff.
Me: Seriously… Am I a fool, doesn’t he care to tell to anyone that he is going to be late?
Let me tell you if he is not going to be here in 5 minutes. I am not going to marry him.
***Unknown: “I guess I am going to have a short-tempered wife.”***
Someone said from behind, grabbing my attention, turning my gaze to the voice to find who is this.
And it’s none other than Mr. Rikshit Singh.
Me: Dad, I think he is here, I’ll call you later.
Dad: Okay...but talk to him politely.
Me: I’ll try. bye.
**Call Ended.**
*“Sorry, I didn’t notice you .” I said in an irritating voice, turning my eyes to meet his. He was grabbing the chair to sit in front of me.
“It’s Okay. I’m at fault here. Only if I don’t get late here, so I would be honored to see a pretty smile on this beautiful face of yours rather than this anger.” He said in a calm tone.
I smiled listening to his words, maybe he is accepting his mistakes.
“You were supposed to be here on time. I have been waiting for you for the last hour.”
“And I am already sorry for my mistake, I got stuck in heavy traffic.”
“Okay, It’s Fine,” I said after calming myself down.
“Thank you for forgiving me. Now can we order and get to know each other more.”
“Sure.” I smiled.
We ordered and talked for a while, and then our food arrived. The food was good, and so was he. Yes, he seems to be a nice person.
He was wearing a white shirt and black pants with black shoes and a Timex watch on his wrist, looking professional and good with his well-set hair giving charm to his looks. He told me that he was handling his father’s business, but he wanted to do something of his own. He loves traveling and watching movies. Our tastes matched in some things, and he flirted with me in between, making me blush. I responded to him accordingly and got involved in the conversation, In 2 hours, we made a kind of good bond. We shared lots of common interests and many more things about our lives.
I asked him about continuing my job, and he said, "Why not? I would love to have a passionate and career-oriented woman as his wife, and I would be very proud of it." Honestly, I was not expecting this reply from him, but it gave me a sense of trust and security that he respects my choices and career. I was having a good time with him. We exchanged our numbers, and now it’s almost time to leave.
“I think it’s time for me to leave now,” I said looking at my watch.
“Oh! Right…I didn’t realize how this time has been spent with you”
“It was a great meeting with you. “
“Indeed it was, I hope I can see you more often precisely smiling, you look pretty when you smile.” He said, I blushed.
“I hope so too, that we can meet further. I should take my leave now.”
“Let me drop you.” He insisted.
“No Need, I can go.” I resisted politely.
“Okay, at least let me call a cab for you please, I am insisting.”
“Okay, Fine.”
He called the cab. we waited for a while, and then he made me sit in the cab noted the cab’s number, and asked me to share the location, doing the same I saw him off.
Resting my back on the cab’s backseat, I realized it was a good meeting and he seems to be a nice person and maybe arranged marriages are not that bad. This time Uncle finds a good guy for me. I was Happy.
Reached home and told everything to the family and they were also happy then they asked.
‘Is it yes from you?”
“I want to know more about him he seems nice but still.”
“Okay you can meet him further but we are now proceeding with your decision to them and hoping the same from them.”
Later the same night I told my mom and brother about him and my mom said “Are you really okay with this?” there was tension all over her face assuring her I said, “Yes Mom, I don’t know about Uncle but he seems to be a nice guy.” Then we chatted for a while then coming back to my room, I did my night routine, and a text popped into my phone, it was from Rikshit.

Rikshit: It was meeting to you.
Me: Same here.
Rikshit: Can’t wait to meet you further.
Me: I also want to meet you and know more about you.
After this, we chatted for a while then I didn’t remember when sleep consumed me.
