I couldn't make up my mind on letting Scott sleep or not, to inform him that I was headed down to the station, but I had the feeling he would grow upset and he wasn't able to come anyhow so I drove myself. Once I arrived, I looked into my mirror and fixed the bandages. On exiting my car, I took in a big breath to calm my anxious heart rate. I was called over by a detective, him and their partner were just coming back from a coffee run. We walked inside and they led me to an office.
The room was very decorative it had a bunch of different awards, I also noticed a child drawing that was hung besides the nameplate that red 'Andrew Bringston.'
"You said you had some news on my mothers' death?" I started feel nauseous from the amount of anxiety was swirling inside my body.
Bringston glanced over at his partner and he handed me a yellow folder that had my mother's name on it along with a photo of her.
"And this is?"
"Well it is a file on your mother's life."
"We have been keeping a pretty close eye on her for a while now."
"Why?!" My voice squeaked from how more upset I was
"Your mother had entertained many men, and most are very dangerous." The detective's partner had decided to chime in as well.
"We've talked to said men listed in the file. Long interrogations and lots of hard evidence."
"What are you trying to tell me exactly?"
"Your mother? She was blackmailing men for their money. They were targeted, picked, seduced. The ones who were to refuse got drugged."
"What? No! That's not my mother.. She ... She just had alot of friends.."
"We found a book that she seemed to have been filling with phone numbers of these men and this added up to their stories."
My entire head felt like it was spinning. The woman I had chaerished, that I sacrificed and defended with my life.. Was a manipulator. Used seduction and drugs along with possibly achohol for these men to fall to their desires and for what... Money...
"So she was a prostitute?" This question exscaped my mouth so quickly I didnt think about stopping it.
"No, the men they paid her to keep quiet. Many of the men asked to stay anonymous.. One even said there was other men at one point."
"I can assure you it was just me and my mother that night."
"I think we take it from here. We thought that you may have more information on this whole thing."
"Unfortanly not. I had no idea.."
