I would give anything to have the moments that happened then. That one peaceful week that seemed to make paradise seem like a dangerous storm. Each morning of this week, I woke to a gourmet breakfast and the went to school where we had no homework due to the conference week. I returned home, I found something in the house, where it had been cleaned or something had been fixed. Each night I would find myself looking over the video one last time to see if I could find any clues, but I always came up completely blank.
The shed was being fixed and painted Wednesday when I had come home. It was the end of my perfect week. I brought Scott a glass of iced sweet tea as I had done before as he was placing finishing touches to the shed door. We looked back and admired how it looked all brand new. He showed me the inside and it was more of a house than a shed now. There was a bed on the floor a desk, he had made from scratch, along with bookshelf he had also placed electricity into the shed that way he no longer had to deal with lanterns. It was gorgeous.
"I cannot believe that you did all this in just a week."
"I don't really sleep well when I have stuff on my mind.." He pulled on the door just to make sure it was stable enough.
"What kind of stuff..?"
"Just my family.. More specifically my sister..."
"Why are you not with your family? I mean how did you end up in this town?"
"Well... There was a incident when I was younger- I would prefer to leave it at that. My sister was sent away, and I was never able to see my parents again. I found I wanted to have a fresh start and this town seemed like a good place to start. If it hadn't stormed, I could have ended up in some hotel and I wouldn't have met you." He gave a warm smile.
"You would have been better off, if you had gone to a hotel."
He hit his fist hard on the door, causing it to break loose from the hinges.
"Don't you ever say that again!"
Leaving the door on the floor, he left the shed and made his way inside the house- I could hear the front door slam from where I was. The entire reaction replayed inside my mind until the curiosity grew of me, and I followed him. I entered the house I heard the shower upstairs and I made my way up to apologize. As I made it to the top steps, I was able to see into the bathroom and saw how he was shirtless. His muscles tight as he held himself over the sink. He ran his fingers though his hair and proceeded to remove the rest of his clothing and enter the shower. Yelling over the running water, I tried to make amends.
"I'm sorry!" I said as my voice cracked
"You're fine I just need you to understand something" His voice soothing voice echoing through the house. "I have not met anyone like you before. You're not like most girls. You actually live... Or at least you want to."
I then heard him exiting the shower. I didn't realize how long I was standing out in all almost 10 to 20 minutes had passed. When he emerged from the bathroom, there was a towel hanging low on his hips and all I could see was his beautiful body sculpted before me.
"I want to give you that adventure as I want a fresh start. We are both in know nothing about one another. I want to know you."
"why?"
"You are not like them. You are interesting?"
"How so?"
"You are highly intriguing to me. I would like to know everything. I want to know your every battle because I feel as were the same at times.." His gaze now fixated on mine. He towered over me without effort as I stood confident before him.
"So what do you say we go and have some fun?"
