"you know, you should smile more often, it looks good on your face rather than being grumpy all the time" sonic spoke teasingly, Letting out a chuckle as he continues to look at him

Shadow scoff in annoyance of his words then open his eyes, slowly looking at the blue hedgehog beside him calmly "l smile when l want to, don't tell me what to do faker"

Shadow's POV
I didn't think much of it but l was staring at his eyes for a bit too long, l composed myself and turn my attention back to the sky or he'll misunderstood me

"How about try smiling for me?" My eyes slightly widen at his request as l turn my head back to him, why so suddenly? Out of all he can ask me he asked that.

"As if l'd do that" l replied, l watch him slowly moving and start laying down on his stomach and his cheek resting on his palm, just seeing that stupid smile on his face makes me want to punch him, l don't know why but it's annoying but somewhat amusing

"Awwww why? Are you shyyyy~?" He said it so playfully and teasingly with that annoying tone of his, l rolled my eyes at him turning my attention on something else

"Don't make me start a fight with you sonic" l said sternly not really in the mood for his playful demeanor

Sonic's POV
Is it weird that l find his reaction adorable? I'm in big trouble if he finds out about it, he'd probably kill me if l say anything further but it was hard to control myself after seeing that smile

"Right, right but l gotta say...your smile...is really pretty.." l said as l put more weight on my palm while looking at him

Author's POV
Shadow flinched hearing that sentence the blue one said, he quickly turn his head to him and saw how calmly and sweetly he looks at him, his tone was so warm and soft.

"You're being bold with your choice of words tonight, you should keep it to yourself or-" before shadow could finish his sentence, the blue hedgehog slowly lowered his head and his eyes slightly closing, signifying he was about to fall asleep. The other stared at him as he blinks a few times, surprise that he was already falling asleep

"How can you fall asleep out here so easily?" Shadow mumbled while he watched him already asleep on the grass. Shadow sighs as he gently push his shoulder to lay on his back so he could breath properly

Shadow's pov
He looks so vulnerable, does he have that much trust in me that he's so comfortable sleeping so casually besides his own rival? What a moron

I continued to watch him sleeping peacefully on the grass, his lips slowly parted as he breaths through his mouth. A small smile slowly forms on mine seeing how stupidly cute he looks

"Wait what?..no l can't be serious, how can l find this moron cute? Ugh..l should go back.." l mumbled to myself and getting irritated as to why l thought of him as cute when he's my rival, there's no way l would think like that towards him.
