Chapter 21

"ah im so tired" sunoo plopped down on the chair behind him and closed his eyes, breathing heavily. university week was the biggest event and while it is fun, preparing it was no joke. ni-ki slowly approached the older who dozed off the second he sat down. he just stared at him with a blank face, admiring sunoo's pointy nose and lips that were slightly opened.

he bent down face to face with the older and smiled "sunoo hyung" he whispered and as expected, the older didn't budge "hey" he whispered once more. sunoo's eyes slowly started to open and as he woke up, he saw ni-ki's face staring directly into his eyes "what are you doing?" he asked him "its 5 pm. lets go home" ni-ki replied while dragging one of the chairs and placing it beside the other "why? theres still plenty of things to do" he sighed "the others can take care of it" he assured.

sunoo shook his head and fished his phone out of his pocket to check for any notifications. after replying to a few messages and taking a few selfies, he put his phone back in his pocket and yawned "youre obviously tired sunoo. you can continue tomorrow you know?" ni-ki sighed "everyones tired ni-ki. i volunteered so i have to do my job" he replied and was about to stand up when ni-ki stopped him from doing so.

"what else do you have to do? let me do it instead" he smiled. sunoo chuckled and shook his head. he really liked this new side of ni-ki "no need ni-ki i know youre tired as well" sunoo laughed. ni-ki shot him a playful glare and pursed his lips "im not tired! just tell me what else you have to finish so i can do it quickly while you rest here for a few minutes" the younger whined.

sunoo sighed in defeat. he knew the younger was stubborn so he decided to just let him do it. plus, he was really tired. he figured a few minutes to rest wasnt a bad idea "okay fine.. you can go to the field and help the others assemble the tents for the booths" he ordered. ni-ki nodded and ran away, leaving the older in the room.

jungwon on the other hand has been watching them from the corner of the room, smiling. when ni-ki left, he immediately approached sunoo and tickled him playfully "you guys are starting to get really serious" jungwon laughed "im still a bit unsure about this whole thing, won. but im trying my best" he replied while scratching the back of his head.

the sheep like male tilted his head in confusion, his right eyebrow forming into an arch "unsure about what? anything youre not comfortable with?" he asked with a hint of worry in his tone.

he along with his friends have been anticipating on what was to come next in sunoo and ni-ki's relationship. they had been looking forward to their improvement and such plus, they couldn't deny that they really did look good together and jungwon felt the same way.

although the two of them had an unusual start — with lots of teasing and yelling every single day, he was proud to see them finally getting along, but to say that they were 'only getting along' was an understatement. having breakfast at each others homes, going to school together, and leaving school together hand in hand, that was something else.

hearing sunoo say that he had doubts and bad thoughts about the situation really made him worried "won, im also trying to figure it out. perhaps its because its such a big adjustment for the both of us, or maybe its all going too fast for me, you know? i mean its not ni-ki's fault, i allow him to hold hands with me and such. but something about this whole thing makes me feel really uneasy" the older explained and released a sigh.

it felt good to finally be able to tell someone. its like some of the weight on his shoulders have been removed "i didnt know you felt that way sunoo hyung" jungwon reached out to his hands and held them. sunoo smiled and felt relieved that he understood what he felt and didnt make him feel judged.

"you should talk to ni-ki about this, hyung. theres nothing wrong with being honest. im sure he'll understand" jungwon added. sunoo released another sigh and nodded. maybe communication and reassurance was all that he needed.

ni-ki had been running from the building and towards the field, where other members of the deco team were assembling the tents for the booths. after receiving a few questions as to why he was there and telling them that he was filling in for sunoo, they assigned him to one of the tents, which was also the same tent daniel was working on.

'for fucks sake' he mentally cursed at himself for getting assigned with someone who he dreaded the most however there was nothing he could do cause it was the only tent left that needed fixing. with a sigh, he slowly approached daniel and put his hands in the pockets of his jacket "they assigned me here" ni-ki awkwardly said, clearing his throat afterwards.

daniel stopped what he was doing and scoffed "youre not even a part of the deco team. go back to taking pictures or whatever" he replied, obviously annoyed. ni-ki took every single will in his body to not make a scene for everyone's peace of mind "im filling in for sunoo" he rolled his eyes.

despite daniel telling him to go away, he ignored him and assembled some parts of the tent anyway "ive been meaning to talk to you by the way and well, since youre already here, ill just get straight to the point" daniel tells him while attaching one pole of the tent to another.

"-you were right. i do like sunoo and i dont care if you guys are in a relationship. he's clearly not comfortable with you and you know it, everyone does" he added.

ni-ki placed the remaining tent poles on the ground and stood up to face the other male, who was already looking at him "clearly, youre jealous and insecure. sunoo and i are happy and no one gives a shit if that makes you mad, go cry about it" he shot back.

the two were practically shooting daggers at each other with their eyes. if looks could kill, they'd be laying on the ground, lifeless "oh save your useless statements ni-ki. im just here to tell you that ill do whatever it takes to stop whatever you guys have going on" daniel laughed.

ni-ki approached the other and grabbed him by his collars, daniel then did the same, and they just stayed like that for a few seconds, glaring into each others soul.

someone elses presence entered the tent and the second that they noticed it was sunoo, they immediately let go of each other. ni-ki quickly left the tent and sunoo ran after him "ni-ki wait!" the older yelled, panting.
