8 months before book 1, Wings of Fire ; The Dragonet Prophecy
Anaconda was pacing back and forth. Her sister was in labor to have two eggs in her first ever hatching. She was waiting in the main room for her sister to be done when she heard yells coming from the room her sister Tuberose was in.
Anaconda went on full alert and looked over to the hallway. A medic came out and whispered something to the receptionist. The receptionist looked like someone had died or something. Yet she was soon going to learn, someone had died.
The receptionist looked at her with sad eyes. "Your sister, she gave birth to a healthy clutch of two... but... she- she died right after the female was born..." the receptionist said with a soft tone.
Anaconda looked at the receptionist with wide eyes. "Sh- she's... dead?" Anaconda said tears coming on. The receptionist looked down.
No, this couldn't be happening, it just couldn't! Anaconda ran away tears coming from her eyes. She was heartbroken. She loved her sister, she was the only one who ever cared for her. Their mother Granduer, was always just talking about how they had to have at least one female egg to be an heir to the throne because of how useless they both supposedly were.
Anaconda cried and cried in her secret hiding spot until her tears finally stopped. Anaconda slowly gained the courage to go back and hid by a rock in camouflage mode as she watched them take the eggs to the hatchery where every other egg was.
After the RainWings left she touched the eggs they had set down to feel their temperature. Female eggs were always warmer than male eggs.
Once she found the female egg from her sister's clutch of eggs, she tried to smash it. "Argh! Why won't the shell break?!" She said. Finally she gave up. But she left one last charcoal mark on the egg to know which one was her sister's daughter... and she would exact her revenge... no one would get away, with killing her sister...
