Chapter Eighteen - Rogue RainWing

Deathbringer had gotten a warning from a NightWing guard about a strange RainWing. They had said the RainWing was an adult female who was spotted practicing her venom... but the strange part... she was practice by shooting, real, live, animals.

Deathbringer knew that no RainWing in the village would ever do that.

Deathbringer was taking large precautions. He added guards to every opening of the hut, including guards at the entrance of their room, and guards by the skylight in the kitchen. He knew it was a bit much but he wanted to take his precautions seriously. No one was getting hurt today... but all he could do about his daughter is hope that her boyfriend is keeping her safe.

Deathbringer kept Glory as close to her as he could. He heard something come from outside and he squeezed her to his chest with his wing.  Glory replied with a simple, "Eep!" before saying, "Deathbringer! That was literally just a stick falling on the roof you sloth brain!"

Deathbringer sighed in relief until he heard a shriek combing from the west side entrance. Glory's scales turned a pale green. 

Deathbringer wanted to go over but he had to keep Glory safe... at all costs...

Guards went rushing down the hallway to see what had happened, but the moment they got there, Glory and Deathbringer heard even more shrieks. Glory looked even more pale now. Thoughts raced through Deathbringer's head. Deathbringer immediately got rid of every thought and focused at the task at hand.

Keeping Glory Safe.

Deathbringer put a wing protectively around Glory as a RainWing walked through the hallway and looked their way with a smug grin. "Oh how long I have waited for this day" the female RainWing said.

Deathbringer didn't want to leave Glory vulnerable but he knew if he didn't they would both end up dead.

Deathbringer leaped at the RainWing and instinctually pinned her down and shutting her snout. The RainWing looked at him, surprised at how fast his reflexes were, but was quick to claw at his underbelly that was left vulnerable.

Deathbringer felt pain flair through his stomach but he didn't let go. He knew that if he let go to snap her neck, she would shoot him with venom. Instead, he decided to bite at the dragon's neck. The dragon shrieked and managed to sink her claws into his underbelly again, but this time, it was a lot deeper.

Deathbringer yelped in pain and was forced to let go. The RainWing took her chance and sprang up. She sunk her fangs into Deathbringer's four arm, but before she could, she was again stopped by Glory pouncing on her.

Deathbringer was quick to take his place in helping hold her down. He held down her snout and wings, while Glory held down her four arms.

Help was soon to arrive as more nightwing and rainwing guards came rushing inside. Hewph. He thought. The nightwing guards came prepared and put the same bags on the dragon's talons as they had used on her years ago on the nightwing island. They then put medal clasps on her wing tips so she couldn't fly away. 

The RainWing female was flailing around trying to escape. The nightwing guards knew what they had to do next, it was the most dangerous part but they had to do it. 

The nightwing guard signaled to him to pass her snout to him. Deathbringer carefully handed her snout to him so he could use the venom stoppers. 

Venom stoppers had been created by MasterMind on the old nightwing island. They hadn't used them though because they wanted to experiment on the venom, not take it away. Venom stoppers were two small medal pieces made to perfectly fit the spot where venom comes out of RainWing fangs. Only thing though, was there was only one way to remove it... removing the venom socket entirely. He knew it was cruel but this RainWing needed it...

The NightWing grabbed her snout and aimed it toward the floor to keep her from shooting venom at them when they put on the Venom Stoppers. The nightwing guard quickly opened her snout while she was flailing and places the metal pieces on her fangs as fast as he could. They had been trained to do it like that where they didn't have to look at the fangs when they did it so they wouldn't get sprayed with venom.

The nightwing guard let go of her snout knowing she couldn't shoot venom anymore.

The RainWing female tried to spray venom at him but nothing came out. "No! No! No!" She yelled as she was dragged away. All of a sudden the RainWing turned invisible and slipped out of the nightwing's hands.

"YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS YOU STUPID QUEEN!" She said as she flew away.

Deathbringer and Glory were left looking out the balcony. The guards tried to chase after her but she was still invisible and they didn't know which way she went.

Right now Deathbringer knew at least one thing was for sure...

We're going to need to be on precaution until that Rogue RainWing... is dead.
