Chapter Twenty Three - Thoughts

Glory stayed as calm as she could. Her heart felt like it was going to fall apart. Leaving her daughter with her boyfriend for who knows how long and only getting to visit her every here and there.

Deep down, Glory knew it was what would keep her daughter safe... but she just couldn't help but feel like the world was taken away from her. She loved Firefly with all her heart, and nothing would ever change that. But that's what made losing her so hard.

Glory felt cool scales brush against hers. Deathbringer put a wing around her once they went around the corner. "It'll be okay Glory, we'll still check on her and I can tell that Stargazer will keep her safe just by looking at him. And plus, we know where we might be able to find her." Deathbringer said gently and kindly. He gave her a nudge by her ruff, signaling that it would be alright.

"I hope so Deathbringer, I hope so."

Once Glory and Deathbringer got home, they noticed it was already starting to get late. Glory quietly ate a mango before climbing into their hammock with Deathbringer. She didn't even want to eat a guava right now, and that never happened.

It took basically forever before Glory finally fell asleep. She couldn't stop thinking about Firefly.

Is she going to be alright?

Will she miss us?

Is Anaconda going after her too?

Can we trust a dragonet to protect our daughter?

Glory crosses all those thoughts off. This is what's best for her. She will be alright. We can trust him. He is a self trained assassin.

Those were the thoughts she kept before she started drifting off to sleep.
