Wednesday's POV:

Sunlight pours in through the window, casting a warm glow across the room. I blink slowly, still groggy, and turn to my side. Enid's still curled up next to me, her breathing soft and steady. The memories from last night come flooding back, and I freeze. Not because of regret, but because of how easily we ended up here, tangled in each other's presence, unsure what it means.

Enid stirs and lets out a sleepy mumble. "Wednesday?"

I sit up slowly. "Morning."

She stretches, then suddenly goes stiff, eyes wide. "Oh my god. W-we actually fell asleep together?" She looks down pulling the blanket over herself, cheeks turning red.

I raise an eyebrow, trying to suppress a smile. "Apparently so."

She tries to get up, but her legs wobble, and she nearly tumbles forward. I catch her by the arm. "Easy."

"Ah, nope, leg cramp. Shit," she groans, reaching down to rub her calf and wincing as she lowers herself back onto the bed.

I help her to the bathroom, steadying her carefully. She perches on the counter, rubbing her leg and muttering about the cramp while I begin my morning routine, brushing my hair. I can feel her eyes on me, curious and lingering.

"You're staring," I say without looking at her.

"You're just... really pretty," she says with a soft chuckle, clearly embarrassed.

She eyes my wardrobe for a second before turning to me. "Hey, uh, can I borrow something to wear?"

I hesitate. "You want to wear my clothes?"

She gives me a hopeful grin. "Please?"

I sigh dramatically. "Fine. But don't get any of those stupid colours on them."

"Deal!" she chirps, and I hand her a spare set of my clothes.

"Just this once," I mutter.

"Thank you," she beams, pulling the hoodie over her head.

We head back into the room once she's dressed. She points toward the sofa. "Hey Wednesday," she starts, giving me a smile that's far too sweet to resist.

"What?" I ask, trying to sound indifferent as I gather my own clothes.

"When you're done, want to watch a movie with me?" she asks, eyes wide in an exaggerated puppy-dog look.

I sigh, rubbing the bridge of my nose. "Fine."

"Thanks, Wends."

She asks Thing to bring her phone, which he does, then plops down beside her. She scrolls through TikTok for a while before switching over to Instagram. Her expression changes.

"What is it?" I ask, stepping out of the bathroom.

"Nothing. Just... this account looks like Yoko's, but kind of like a secret one?"

"Do you want to use the TV or the laptop?" I ask, steering the moment away.

"TV. But, um, do we have blinds or something for that window?" she says, pointing at the large, circular window set in the middle of the wall.

I snap my fingers. The room dims instantly.

I pull the TV cart into position and grab the remote and a PS5 controller. "What do you want to watch?"

"Let's do 'Damsel'!"

I nod and cue it up on Netflix.

Just as it loads, there's a knock at the door. I start to walk over, but it swings open before I get there.

"Hey, sorry," Yoko's voice calls. "Just wanted to check in."

"We're fine. Just watching a movie," I say evenly.

"Cool. Can I join?" Her voice sounds unsure.

I glance at Enid, who shrugs. "Sure," I mutter, stepping aside.

Yoko sits beside me, draping a blanket across all three of us. Thing returns with popcorn. As the movie starts, I feel a warm hand rest on my thigh.

I glance down, Enid. She quickly looks away, her cheeks flushed.

Yoko shifts closer. I feel her head lean on my shoulder. Then, her hand reaches out and laces fingers with mine.

I glance at Enid. She moves, placing her legs over mine with deliberate slowness. Yoko gives her a subtle glare, but Enid just leans back, smug. I say nothing, eyes locked on the screen.

Eventually, Yoko gets up. "I'll be back. Bathroom," she mutters and disappears into the bathroom.

Enid moves quickly. She shifts toward me and rests her head on my shoulder. I glance down, and before I can speak, she leans in.

Our eyes meet. She pauses, searching my face. The air between us stills, thick with uncertainty and something warmer. I don't move, and slowly, she closes the gap.

Her lips meet mine in a gentle kiss. It's soft, hesitant, but real. A second later, the bathroom door creaks open. I try to pull away, but Enid lingers a moment longer.

Yoko steps into the room, eyes catching ours. "I, um... need to go. Bianca needs me."

"If you've got to go, you've got to go," Enid says casually, unpausing the movie.

I give Yoko a small, polite smile. "Text you later?"

She nods and leaves without another word.

Enid, grinning, practically sprawls across my lap.

"Really, Enid?" I say.

"What? You're just comfortable," she says with a smirk, settling in.

I sigh and wrap my arms around her.

The movie ends, and I glance down. Enid's asleep again, tucked under my arm.

"Enid," I whisper, shaking her gently.

"Hm?" she mumbles, nuzzling into my neck.

"Let's go to the Weathervane."

"Okay." She sits up groggily but doesn't move.

I rise, and she finally follows, stretching. As I start toward the bathroom, she catches my wrist and tugs me back into another kiss. I melt into it.

She pulls away with a smile, then hops up onto the counter, letting her legs dangle as she grabs her toothbrush and starts brushing her teeth.

I follow her inside. "Hi."

She looks at me in the mirror. "Hi."

She spreads her legs slightly and gestures me over. I step between them, and she wraps them around me.

"Omg, I forgot you had dimples!" she exclaims as I let out a rare smile.

"I do?"

"Can I please see them again?" she begs, pouting.

"I can't smile on command."

"So I have to make you smile."

She kisses me again. I blink, barely reacting.

"That didn't count!" she pouts again, then kisses me harder this time.

We break apart, breathless.

"I love you," she says suddenly, then backtracks. "Wait, no-I mean, yes- but I didn't mean to- well I did-"

"I love you too," I say simply.

She lights up, immediately taking a picture of my smiling face.

"Don't show that to anyone," I warn.

She giggles, already heading for the door. "Come on, grump."

This girl.
