The sun was setting, the food eaten, the staff gone and the couple were relaxing under a gazebo set up on the beach. It was a romantic setting with lanterns around the four edges between the poles that made up the corners of the white fabric structure. They laid on pale cushions and sheeting, a white, plush barrier between their bodies and the sand. Staff had been setting it up while the couple enjoyed their meal on the floating platform on the ocean. The decking was anchored to the sea bed and all around them they could see little fish swimming by.
Jungkook was happier once the staff left. He wasn't so keen on being waited on hand and foot, even if this was their honeymoon and that's what the staff were paid to do. It wasn't a situation he was entirely comfortable with though he could appreciate that the staff had a job to do. It reminded him of the hotel in London when they had a private butler for their suite which he thought was unnecessary. He drew the line at handing over his rucksack for the concierge to carry for him and today he'd drawn the line at having staff continually pour drinks so he asked for the bottle so he could do it himself. It wasn't because he was stubborn, bloody-minded or had a point to prove. He just wasn't comfortable with people doing things for him that he was more than capable of doing. Jungkook always used to roll his eyes when he lived in the house with his mother and Ryan. There was staff there who would hang off of his mother's every word and he was encouraged to ask them for anything and everything. He felt like he couldn't breathe at times and he didn't care that his classmates at school thought it was cool that he had staff to do things for him. He was smothered at home, there were people to lay out his clothes, cook his food, drive him everywhere, clean his bedroom and open doors for him. There were people watching and listening and as time went by, his independence and time alone reduced and made him want to scream. He still doesn't know how much of it was Ryan... just because it was Ryan's house and staff, doesn't mean it had anything to do with him. Jungkook always used to lay blame at the feet of his Stepfather but now he wasn't so sure who was at fault. His mother knew where he was in those six years, she knew about Ash, she told so many lies and created a whole narrative. It was obvious that she was the one who needed to control situations and people so could she have been responsible for everything all this time?
Marrying Ryan gave her the financial backing to do whatever she wanted and paying off her ex husband was proof of that. The snippets that he'd heard about Ryan via Kyong made the dancer think that he shouldn't have been so harsh on his stepfather but none of it mattered now. Jungkook had certainly married into money but he wasn't like his mother and would never use it the way that she had but he also knew that Tae wouldn't let that happen. The CEO wouldn't turn a blind eye like Ryan had... they were different people, too.
"We should get naked." Tae announces, already pulling off his shorts.
"You're keen."
"We have until midnight and we are completely alone on a tropical paradise... I can't get my mouth on you if you have clothes on." He states as a matter of fact.
Jungkook was actually looking forward to playing the dice game. He knew it would end up with sex and so far, not a single day had gone by without sex since they slept off their jet lag. His libido appeared to have reached new heights since they arrived and he had a husband who seemed to be constantly horny (so he said... a lot). He found it amusing that the CEO invented excuses for being aroused... one night it was the cold air conditioned bedroom and that meant body heat was the way forwards... he blamed the book he was reading because apparently sex between a vampire and a human was hot... another day it was the reflection of the sun in the pool, which blinded him and he needed to see if having sex would give him his sight back... the list was endless and very entertaining.
"Are you sure that no one is here?" Jungkook asks.
"I am sure."
Tae had had the best day! Snorkelling was perfect and the meal was without question, one of the tastiest he'd ever had. They enjoyed each other's company, there was always something to talk about, especially when they hadn't really been able to talk while they were snorkelling so they had a lot to discuss.
