Chapter 207 - What To Do?

'IDIOT!'

Jungkook whispers to himself, a word hissed under his breath, aimed at himself, as he waves at the rear of the car. He also sighed with relief that his husband had finally accepted defeat and dropped him off first after he'd attempted to swing it back his way. Jungkook told Tom not to listen to his boss which the CEO raised his eyebrows at and tried to assert his authority but with a ton of respect and in the most diplomatic way, the driver explained that he understood both sides but logically it made sense to go to he diner first.

Upon entering the diner, Marie's smile faded and frown lines appeared when she registered the expression on Jungkook's face, "What is it, Jungkookie?"

"I am an idiot! Do not tell Ash but he's right and I'm probably a dick, too."

"Come and sit down." she says, leading them to a table near the back and speaking to Marsha as they walk past the counter, "Two vanilla latte's please."

Jungkook slumps into the chair, "I have this way of screwing things up and I don't know how I keep managing to do it."

"What has happened?"

"Ugh! First it was the proposal, which, let's face it... was a mess and then I freaked out during the ceremony yesterday which was AFTER I freaked out on the Ferris wheel the night before! And now I've woken up today after I ruined last night because I didn't treat my husband as he should be treated! Here we are again... all the planning in the world and I mess it up!"

Marie tries to take it in and wants to cut in but Jungkook continues and she feels that he obviously needs this moment.

"Tae says it doesn't matter because he fell asleep too and he told me not to apologise but he's feeling... erm... a certain way... because of me! We had to leave early because of the stupid Vogue interview and that was as bad as I thought it would be! That man is an arsehole and he looked at my husband like he thought he had a chance with him... well he didn't stand a chance because Tae is my husband but that would be the husband that I didn't look after last night! The husband that has gone to work after the shittiest wedding night! Then at Vogue the chief editor man asked to speak to us and he wants to have just me in an article! I'm sitting there in this ridiculous office, next to Tae, who is practically a celebrity and they want me because of Calvin Klein and I just want to be on the plane and forget it all happened."

Marie smiles and is pleased she has a minute to think when Marsha places two drinks on the table. She is so fond of this man who appears to store everything inside then blurt it all out so sentences tangle like spaghetti in a bowl.

"Jungkookie... have a drink and take some deep breaths. Let me unpick this... I think we can disregard the proposal because Taehyung not only said 'yes' but I know you have spoken to him about it and I know that you've heard the way he talks about it so that's something you have to let go. We spoke about the Ferris wheel and the ceremony and you know that no one else noticed so you need to let that go, too. So... your plans didn't go as you'd hoped last night?"

"No... we had this stupid agreement that we wouldn't be... erm... together until last night because it would be special and we'd been looking forward to it and I fell asleep."

"You fell asleep while together? In the act?"

"What? Oh... no!" Jungkook blushes, this was super awkward, "... Tae went to get changed in the bathroom and I must've fallen asleep while he was in there."

"Oh, okay. That's normal. Most couples don't have the explosive erotic wedding night that movies and books tell you is what happens. For most people, they are up early after not sleeping so well the night before through nervousness and excitement and the day is so full on and by the time they make it to bed, they are exhausted. With all the will in the world, sometimes, plans do not go to plan."
