Room 36
"Let's get you some food, Jungkookie, you haven't eaten yet." Marie says as they enter the room where Billy is waiting for them.
"Ahead of schedule, I'm impressed." Billy smiles, greeting them both as the door closes.
The room is large, lots of space in the area decorated similarly to the room Jungkook left behind earlier. All of their belongings apart from the small bag he had with him had been moved by staff to the honeymoon suite where he would spend the night after the ceremony.
"Look what Jungkook and Taehyung gave me." Marie couldn't wait to show off the ring that she now proudly wore.
"A thank you?"
"Yes... did you know about it?"
"No. I just know how grateful they are for all you do for them."
Jungkook takes a seat on the bed, "We are grateful for you, too." He says to Billy
Billy smiles, "I know you are, JK. The ring matches your dress, Marie."
"Jungkookie chose it. Ara has one, too. They made us both cry. Have you heard from Sukmin, Billy? Jungkookie, you need to eat." the diner owner says, looking at her hair in the mirror. She'd been bowled over by the make-up and then Angel curled her hair and pinned it into a bun, completing the style with a single purple rose and feather.
Billy catches the dancer rolling his eyes and tries not to laugh. "Yes, I called him when I was walking with Yejoon. He was playing Gran Turismo and he had the snacks you left for him. He sounded okay."
"Did you ask him if he wanted Marsha to go over there?"
"Yes, I asked him."
"Did you remind him about the ramen?"
It's Jungkook's turn to grin as Billy rolls his eyes.
"Yes, I reminded him."
"Did you tell him not to answer the door because we aren't expecting anyone?"
"Yes, I told him."
Marie turns around, facing the two men, "Don't think I didn't see you rolling your eyes, Billy... and you, Jungkookie. Now... we've had food delivered so... eat... please... you don't have to eat a lot but it's a warm day and passing out while declaring your love isn't in the schedule..." she walks over to the rectangular coffee table where there are a few covered dishes, "... I also brought some Angel cake for you."
Warmth spreads through Jungkook... the cake provided a familiar on a day that was anything but. "It wouldn't be right without it... thank you." Perhaps the way they'd learnt to celebrate his birthday had inadvertently become important after all.
"While you're eating, why don't you tell us about last night?" Marie says kindly.
"How are you feeling about today?" Billy asks.
Jungkook moves to one of the chairs behind the coffee table. The sliding balcony door is open, a light breeze making its way into the room. "It's been a very different start to every other year since I left my party. As soon as I opened my eyes, Tae was breathing on me so I've not had a chance to dwell on it. If I think about it too much, I'm scared it will ruin today so it's best that I don't give it too much thought for now."
"No one expects you to acknowledge it. You've got a lot to work through and that's not going to happen overnight." Billy smiles.
"You do it in your own time..." Marie says, "... now, I'd really like to hear about last night, if you want to tell us?"
