Ugh! He didn't like being indecisive.
Would Tae like it?
Was it too big or too small?
It was easier choosing their engagement rings when he had Heeju with him and Muyeol's parents were a great help. Now he was on his own after leaving a clingy husband by the pool, standing in the boutique being given options for a necklace whilst being reminded once again of how rubbish he was at making a decision.
"Would the necklace be worn for special occasions?" A lady asked him, her long blonde hair stood out when everyone he'd come into contact with was brunette.
"Umm... I don't know? I think Tae will want to wear it all the time." Jungkook rubbed his nape with his hand. The humidity seemed to seep through the air conditioned room and attack him, perspiring thanks to the pressure of making the right choices.
The lady looked up from her notepad, "Based on everything that you have told me, I would recommend pure platinum for the chain because its hard wearing for everyday use. I would also suggest a small pearl, 8-9mm so that it sits underneath your husband's shirt and tie or can sit over it with comfort. I can offer you a AAAA graded black south sea tahitian pearl that you can choose yourself. The pearls are high lustre and their iridescent nature means that they show slightly different colours depending on the angle."
That was a lot of information to take in. "Could I see?"
The lady smiles with just her top teeth visible and she blinks quickly twice alternately. "Yes, here are the pearls I was talking about." She reaches low underneath the cabinet she is standing behind and lifts a sleek white box, locked with a small padlock. She opens it with a tiny key on the bunch gathered and held by a long chain on her waist.
Jungkook looks down as she moves the lid back and reveals five little black orbs sitting in individual rivets. He wasn't too sure he knew what he was looking for, they all looked the same.
With white fabric gloves in place, the lady picked up one of the pearls, "In the light, each one is different." She shines a small led light at the pearl and turns it slowly between her fingers. "You see? This one is slightly green in places?"
Jungkook could see the way the light hit it and the colour change but he didn't really mind which pearl went into the necklace. "I pick one of these?"
"Yes. These are graded AAAA which is the highest quality and covers less than 5% of a pearl harvest. They are perfectly round, 90-95% blemish free."
That sounded expensive to Jungkook but he would pay whatever it took to get the everlasting gift for his husband who had spent an infinite amount of money on their weddings and honeymoon. They'd discussed plans and divvied up their remaining days so their itinerary was set. He was looking forward to their plans even if he had no clues about the things Tae had arranged. The dancer decided he wasn't keen on surprises usually, especially if the surprise was coming from his husband because it would usually be ridiculously lavish but on this occasion, he could guarantee it would be expensive and he had no one to blame but himself for giving him total power over the honeymoon.
"They all look the same." Jungkook tells the lady. "So, I'll pick that one." He points.
She picks up her notepad and a pencil, "If the platinum claw gripped the pearl like this..." she drew a circle to represent the pearl then continued, "... the design on top of the pearl that attaches to the chain could be formed to resemble a heart but if that is too much we could make it more simple?"
Jungkook looked at the picture that she'd drawn. Wavy lines in grey on top of the circle that looked like a skewed heart. It was delicate and had meaning, "I really like it. The pearl is quite small and I don't think it will be too much at all."
