Chapter 228 - Supportive Husbands

"I think you should speak to Marie and Billy."

"I wanted to speak to you about it first."

"Ultimately, it is their decision, Tae."

"What do you think?"

"I think you should speak to them." Jungkook repeats.

Tae reaches across the centre console of the Audi and places a hand on his new husband's thigh. "I'd really like to know what you think."

Jungkook glances at the man sitting in the passenger seat before his eyes return to the road ahead. He can see his wedding ring gleaming on his finger as he grips the steering wheel and he sighs before speaking honestly. "It's not about me. If I were them, I wouldn't accept it but that's me and this isn't my decision. It's a lot to get my head around... that you can just gift someone a whole building but I also love you so much for everything that you've done for them. Tae... without you stepping in, there wouldn't even be a diner."

"That's partly why I don't want any money from them for it. I purchased the building to save it and they shouldn't suffer the cost. I would like them to start afresh, whatever they choose to do with it."

"I can see your side and it makes me so proud to be your husband. You are a wonderful man, Tae."

"But you don't think I should offer it to them?"

"I didn't say that. I don't know what the answer is."

"I want to give Billy and Marie the building, Jungkook. Will you be there when I tell them?"

Jungkook places his hand over Tae's hand resting on his leg. "If you want me to be, I will be."

"I would like you there."

"Then I will be there."

"I know you think it's extravagant but this is how I will erase some of what Nuri did. All the time that I own that building, it's a reminder of her and I don't want that for any of us. Billy and Marie deserve to own it. They are such good people and freeing up the money for them, I know they will put it to good use."

"You don't need to justify it to me, Tae. I love you so much... and I will support your decision."

Tae smiles, a sense of relief as he exhales. He suspected that Jungkook would see his gift as unnecessary and he knew that he would have found a way to give it to Billy and Marie whatever his new husband's response had been but it felt better to have his support.

The couple were on their way to the Calvin Klein photoshoot and the CEO had worked late a few nights to free up the time that he was sure he would spend drooling all day over his new husband. He didn't know what to expect today, apart from the fact he would have to mask his arousal somehow?

Taehyung was prepared for the inevitable struggle that he would face and likened it to the dance lesson while on their honeymoon. He was so proud of Jungkook and he didn't share his new husband's worries about today, having every little bit of faith in him.

When they arrive, they are greeted warmly by a young man who introduces himself as 'Art'. He explains that as a creative director he felt he needed he simple, memorable name that was easily spoken in every language and quick to type in the credits of a magazine. The couple hadn't needed the explanation but they both warmed to the man who took delight in explaining why a Korean man had such a name. Jungkook understood his reasoning and shared his experience of choosing 'stage names' when he started at university. Many of the students had fun deciding what their stage name would be but Jungkook only ever really strayed as far as Jay-Kay and always defaulted back to Jungkook. He remembers how Ash tried his hardest to convince him to use 'Kookie Monster' as a stage name but that was never going to happen, even when Ash plied him with alcohol and got him to sign the form for university. That was another occasion where Ash thought he was hilarious as Jungkook's name appeared in the credits of a performance as 'Kookie Monster'. After that, Jungkook made sure he was known as 'Jungkook' or 'Jay-Kay' ONLY.
