Room 66
"You must eat something, Taehyung." Ara informs her eldest child as they enter the room.
"Ara, he is close to 30 years old, he will eat when he is ready." Yejoon tells his wife.
"Eomma, I am used to public speaking, I am aware of what I need."
Ara puts her hands in the air in defeat, "Fine, but this is not public speaking and you should know better than to compare it to a conference. You are pouring your heart out to the love of your life and we are just the privileged few who have been invited to witness it.... not the same thing at all!!"
Father and son share sneaky glances at each other as Mrs Kim conducts the room as she always does. Her long hair hanging in loose curls with one side of the front pinned delicately with a silver and purple gem encrusted ornate clip that sparkled every time a ray of sunlight caught it.
The CEO concedes and takes a seat on the small two seater chair that has a table filled with food items on it close by. "I'm not hungry."
"You sound like a child, Taehyung and pouting won't win you any favours." Ara looks at her son with an accusing expression.
"I do not pout." he takes a deep breath.
Ara raises her eyebrows at Taehyung before turning to speak to her husband, "How was your walk? Is Billy okay? Marie and I were surprised with this jewellery from Taehyung and Jungkook." she holds out her hand, her smile growing as she sees the ring again.
"Our walk was much needed and Billy is good. He was telling me about Sukmin... Our son has good taste with jewellery."
"Jungkook chose the rings and paid for them. It was all his idea." Tae informed his father.
"It's a special gift that I will treasure forever and it will match my dress perfectly."
"How is Jungkook this morning? I didn't want to wish him a happy birthday and I noticed that no one else did either." Yejoon says to his son as he takes a seat.
"It hasn't been mentioned since last night and I thought after my surprise that it would be better left alone. I told him that any birthday celebrations would be on his terms in future." The CEO says with a giggle, of sorts, masked by a huff of breath.
"What did you do?" Ara asks.
"I took him to the top of the ferris wheel at midnight and told him that I've bought him Gravity."
Yejoon's eyes widen and he crosses one leg over the other, "Was that a birthday gift?"
"I'm presuming you handled the situation with sensitivity or was that why you chose to tell him when you were at the top, in the air?" Ara asks.
"It wasn't quite so black and white, my days of simplistic thinking came to an end when I met Jungkook. My thought process was to spend time alone together on the eve of our ceremony but I wanted to acknowledge his birthday. It's important to recognise the day he was born but of course I am aware of how he feels about it so it was awkward. There is so much I could buy him... I could have had Gravity signed over to him months ago but I had to choose wisely when it came to the timing of it. I've had a long time to think about it because the whole franchise situation has been obvious but Jungkook hasn't been receptive to it for many reasons. I had a few meetings with my legal team and with Seok to determine how to move forward with it and the bottom line is that the money can be transferred if Jungkook puts a signature on the contract."
"How did he take it?" Yejoon asks his son.
"Erm... there was a point when I did think he might jump from the cabin but his initial reaction was because he thought I'd operated behind his back and I'd mapped out his future."
