They fell deeper into the woods with each step they took. After a while, they finally stopped to catch their breaths.

"I think we lost them." Nara said, bent over and panting.

Aurora leaned against a tree, trying to balance herself. Then she looked up at Zyran and Lina. "Why the hell would you two do that?"

"Do what?" Zyran asked through heaving breaths.

"Reveal that you can control anything liquid," She glared at Zyran. "And that you are a mage!"

"A witch." Lina corrected.

Aurora gave her a deathly look. "It doesn't matter the term." She scowled. "Now that they know you have powers, they're going to want to take you as well. You two just fucked yourselves over."

Lina and Zyran gave each other a glance. Nara sighed, standing up. "What do we do now?"

"Go home?" Eric offered, throwing his arms up. They all gave him a look. "No? Okay."

"You can't go home. Not if you want to keep your families safe." Aurora stated.

Lina sighed, running a hand through her hair. "She's right. But if we can't go home, where can we go?"

No one answered. They all looked at Aurora expectantly.

She looked up and noticed. "What?"

"You're the one with all the answers." Nara said.

Aurora sighed, pushing off the tree and walking past them. "I don't know." She turned back around. "How far do these woods go?"

"They run through all of Minnesota." Eric answered.

"Okay," She whispered, nodding. "We should be safe in here for the time being, but we can't stay. Hydra is going to be looking for us, and they're not going to stop."

"Hydra?" Zyran repeated, confused.

"That's the organization." Aurora explained. "Hydra Labs. Run by Markus Van Helsing, that's the man you all saw."

"Van Helsing?" Eric's face scrunched.

"Like Dracula?" Nara asked.

She nodded. "His bloodline originated the hunters. His family is the reason our world is the way it is. Now, come on. I'll explain more on the way." She began to walk.

"Where are we going?" Zyran asked, jogging to catch up with her.

"Does it matter? As long as we're safe." Lina answered, walking toward them. Nara walked to Eric, helping him stand.

"I think I know the safest place to live the rest of our lives." Nara announced.

"Where?" Eric asked.

"The moon." They all rolled their eyes. "Come on, guys! Think about it. We'd be the only ones there and we can use Lina's powers to create a home and Zyran's powers for water—"

"Shut up, Nara." The three all cut her off.

Nara frowned. "Fine, grouches." She murmured to herself, half-carrying Eric. "When will you be sober again? I am not going to be able to carry you while we're running for our lives."

"Mmm, give me five to ten business days." Eric retorted. Nara rolled her eyes.

"So, how are we supposed to live like this? We don't have much in the way of survival." Zyran stated, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

Aurora sighed, then stopped. "How much money do we have?"

The others stopped as well, searching their pockets. "I've got a twenty." Zyran told, holding it up.

"Same." Lina said, holding it up.

"Uhh," Nara stuffed her hands in her pockets. "I've got a ten?"

"Two dollars." Eric held up two fingers with a grin.

"Okay... Fifty-two dollars. That's— That's good, right?" He ran a hand over the back of his head, wincing. Fifty-two dollars wasn't going to cut it for the five of them.

"Fifty-two dollars." Aurora whispered. "Okay, that seems like a lot for me, but again, the world has changed. We need money for transportation, that we know."

"And food." Eric threw out, holding an arm up.

She nodded, sighing. "Food."

"We need money for transportation, but to where?" Lina asked, crossing her arms. The sun was going to be setting soon.

"There's someone that might help." Aurora blew out a breath. "A rumor of a powerful sorceress. The strongest witch anyone has seen since the fall of the Blood Witch empire."

"The what?" Zyran's face scrunched, befuddled. Lina stared at Aurora, but it wasn't confusion on her face. She knew who she was talking about.

"The Blood Witch empire. It was a kingdom back in the seventeen-hundreds and it was the strongest in the entire country. The strongest of the entire Mythic world." Aurora explained. "Markus was always talking about her. About how strong she is. She's his next victim."

"Who are we talking about again?" Nara asked.

"Her name is—"

Lina cut her off. "Evelyn Mikaelson."
