Aurora woke to the sound of conversation.
"...and then I set the fire."
"We're not setting them on fire." Zyran sighed.
"Why not? They've got weapons, mind control, literal human machines trained to kill. They just tried to set us on fire with a dragon. If we set fire to them, maybe we can give us time to actually get where we need to go and not worry about another creature coming for us."
"We're not lighting them on fire, Nara." He repeated sternly.
"Just think about it."
"No fires."
"But—"
"No."
Lina threw her arms up from the very backseat, looking around at her friends. "Since when did we accept pyromaniacs to this team?"
"Now, apparently." Eric commented.
Zyran glanced at Aurora, finding her awake. "Morning, Princess." He held a bottle of water out to her. "Here. You need some liquids in you. Haven't seen you drink much since you've been out of Hydra."
"I drink blood, not water." She mumbled, taking the bottle from him.
"Well, we can't offer you blood." Nara stated, leaning on the center console. "So you get water."
"Sit back." Zyran shoved her, pushing her back into the backseat. Nara rolled her eyes, flopping back. "We'll be at the Midnight Oasis within a half hour." He explained. She nodded.
She turned to the window, the sky turning lighter as the sun rose. They were in a city of some sort, and Aurora stared at all the buildings. They looked similar to those she had seen in her time before Hydra caught her, but more modern.
"Ugh, this silence! It's unbearable!" Nara groaned, leaning forward and fidgeting with the radio.
"What's unbearable is you being unable to just sit still." Lina retorted, leaning against the back of Eric and Nara's seats.
"Oh, but you love me for it." Nara countered with a grin, winking. Lina rolled her eyes, laying back in her seat. Aurora was beginning to realize just how flirty Nara actually was. Whether it was real or fake, that remained unknowing.
"Your destination is on the left." The automated voice spoke, making Aurora jump. It talked.
"Relax, Rory." He chuckled. "It's just the automated system."
She nodded slowly as he pulled into the parking space. He parked and the five of them got out, grabbing the bags. Aurora walked around the car, looking up at the club with the giant flower on top of the building. The name Midnight Oasis was written in large LED lights, flashing vibrantly.
"Let's get this down and get out. Shouldn't take us long, right?" Zyran asked, optimistic.
"Zy, your optimism at a time like this is truly astonishing." Lina commented as she slipped by him.
He shrugged and the five of them made their way inside.
