Lina's head swam as she slowly regained consciousness. She barely knew what had happened, her brain foggy. Slowly, she pushed herself up into a sitting position, placing her feet on the ground, as she registered where she was. Though, she struggled, her head spinning.

"You're awake." A booming voice spoke.

It wasn't until her head stopped spinning that she pushed herself to her feet. She swayed before she stood straight.

Looking around, she noticed she was in a cell. Dark, cold cobblestone surrounded her and she noticed her feet were bare. Immediately, her head snapped to the metal bars barricading her inside.

"Van Helsing." She growled, glaring at him.

"Hello, subject two-fifty-nine." He smiled. "Good to have you back."

"What am I doing in here?" She sneered, angry.

"What are you doing? Well, it looks like you're being locked up again." He shrugged simply.

Lina took a large step forward. "You promised me power." She glared. "You promised me that if I could bring you Aurora, you'd give me her powers."

"I told you if you brought me Aurora, you'd be rewarded. I never said what your reward would be." He countered.

"You promised me." She repeated. "You promised me her power."

"No." He shook his head. Then took a step forward. "What is Aurora to me, without her magic?"

Lina's anger flared. "I could've done it!" She snapped. "I could've held her power!"

"And yet, you don't." He snapped, his humorous mood gone. "You tried to take her power, and yet, here you stand, locked up in the same place you escaped. It's a wonder how life goes in circles."

"That magic is mine." She snarled. With her hair and clothes askew, she looked more like a rabid animal, ready to attack at any moment. "I deserve that power. Not her!"

Van Helsing snorted. "You are too weak to hold her magic. Her magic is ancestral, and trust me, her ancestors are very powerful."

Suddenly, Lina was laughing maniacally. "Does she know?"

"Does who know?"

"Victoria." She grinned.

"Does she know what?" His brows furrowed.

Lina grabbed onto the bars as she laughed, her body shaking. Her eyes were empty, psychopathic. "Does she know that you tortured your daughter for a hundred-and-eighty-eight years?"

Van Helsing's jaw flexed, but he didn't respond.

Lina's laugh got louder. "She must've thought your daughter was living the best life." She laughed, a large, mad smile on her face. "One day, she's going to realize that she's just a toy to you. That she means nothing. All you want is power."

"You are the one who wants power."

She laughed. "Ohhh, but I'm not the one torturing people for it."

"And Aurora?"

Her face immediately fell and she gripped the bars tighter. "She gave me that power! She gave it to me!"

"But you don't have it." He glared.

"Let me out." She demanded. "Let me out of this prison."

Van Helsing smiled. "I don't think so."

"Van Helsing, let. Me. Out." She demanded once more. "Let me out. I can get her. I can bring her to you."

He shook his head. "You already tried. And you failed." He stated. "What makes you think I'm gonna give you a second chance?"

She glared, chest heaving. Her nostrils flared in anger. "Get me out of here, Markus."

"It's Van Helsing, to you. Doctor Van Helsing." He retorted, pointing a finger.

"You're no doctor." She seethed, glaring at him. "Get me out of here!"

He shook his head. "I apologize, but...you're not getting out. Not ever again." He took a step back. "See, things around here are a little different...than they were back then. More security. Stronger containment. You're not getting out this time, Evangelina."

"Let me out!" She demanded, shaking the bars.

"I'll be seeing you tomorrow, Evangelina." He called as he began to make his way down the hall. "Don't worry. You'll have Aurora to keep you company here very soon."

"Van Helsing! Let me out of here!" Lina screamed after him. He didn't turn around. He didn't stop. Only listened as she screamed for him to let her out, to get her out of her containment. "VAN HELSING!" was the last thing he heard before the large metal door slammed shut.
