THE door busted in and I ducked my head as me and Dallas walked into Buck's, still I rode on his back. I couldn't stop the high I was on, I felt so alive and genuinely happy for the first time in weeks. Dallas couldn't stop his laughing at me as I waved an arm in the air pretending to dance along to the music. Dallas' shoes sounded against the wooden floor as he walked over to the bar where Buck was tending.
"Oh hell, the party's here." Buck said with a smile. Finally Dallas put me down and I managed to squeeze myself between two people, Dally standing behind me. I shifted onto one leg and smiled up at Buck. I didn't dare to tease anyone else but him Sodapop and Dally.
"Buck, what do you say you pour me a drink?" I said in a pleading tone.
"Well little lady, didn't know you were an alcoholic now!" He said as he began to mix and pour me something. I didn't trust anyone else to give me drinks unless it was Buck or Dallas.
"Oh lord! I ain't no dayum alcoholic. I just like to have my fair share" I said crossing my arms and standing back tall again. Buck laughed from his stomach and finished mixing up my drink."Most of these folks said the same thing, and now I see em' every day!" He continued to laugh and so did Dallas. I knew if I got too drunk here I might end up doing something I would regret so I tried my best to settle for a few drinks. What Buck said was right, I did drink a lot but this time it was only on occasion and same with the last couple of times. If I had a problem I would be like Two-bit, he's always drinking something.
The night continued on, and surprisingly Dally didn't leave my side all too much other than getting himself drinks. The both of us were three sheets to the wind by mid night, and I felt even more euphoric than I did when I was sober. If you looked at me and Dallas from everyone else's stand point, you could have sworn we were something more by how well he treated me. He held me close by the waist, he and I would team up and play pool, and then my favourite part of the night was when my favourite song played loud on the jukebox. Mostly everyone had left the party except for a few stragglers who were passed out or just there for the last few rounds.
"Oh Dal...you've gotta dance with me" I said walking over to him. He rolled his eyes drunkenly as I tried to pull him up from his chair.
"Man, I'm fucked up...I don't think I can babydoll" My drunken mind loved to hear him call me that. I huffed out and pulled on his arms one last time.
"Oh please? This song...I really like this song Dally" my pouting began to work as he sluggishly pulled himself up. We staggered over to the open space by the bar that was almost completely empty. The two of us began to sway along to the song and I could tell that even drunk and even the way he was, he enjoyed dancing with me. The smile that he gave me made me laugh and from my laughter brought him to laugh aswell."What's so funny Jannie" he slurred, looking down into my eyes. His drunken half lidded gaze made my cheeks flush even redder then they had been from all the alcohol.
"Hm, just how messed up we are" I hummed out, I could feel myself getting tried from all the swaying and rocking back and forth. I was lucky I wasn't too far gone or all this swaying would have had me sicker than a dog.
"yeah we are...y-you wanna know somethin'?" He said to me. I nodded eagerly, eyelashes fluttering in order to keep myself awake.
"You're such a beautiful girl..." I couldn't figure out what to make of it all. They say the drunk thoughts are the ones you want to say when sober but I wasnt all too sure if that was true. For our state of mind it was too much to comprehend so I didn't say anything but a thank you, and a kiss to the cheek. The two of us decided we were ready to lay down and get some rest so leaning on each other, we walked over to the stairs and walked up to where Dallas usually spent his nights.I sat on the bed and watched Dally stumbled around and opening and closing dresser drawers. He handed me a larger sized t-shirt which I assumed wasn't his since he wouldn't be able to wear a size that big. I striped to my under garments and threw the shirt on as a one piece to wear to sleep. Dallas striped to his boxers and laid himself on the bed, motioning for me to go and lay down with him.
Looking up to him, I seen dried blood on his face from the fight at the Dingo earlier. He winced as I reached my hand up and wiped it away with my thumb.
"God Jannie it hurts, man" I rolled my eyes to his comment.
"Then don't fight, it's that simple." I said, watching him shake his head.
"I do it for you, don't want you to wind up with another black eye" Half of what he said I didn't understand but I could make it out pretty well. My hand reached up to his hair, combing my fingers through the brown strands gently, which made his head fall back and his eyes close in relaxation.
"If we have to get drunk just so you can stay here and do this every night, I'm up for it" his slurred comment made me giggle.Something about him and how he looked made me crazy. His soft skin, naturally pursed lips, and big brown eyes. It was totally the alcohol talking but before my mind could think too much about it, I placed kisses that lined his jaw. By the third kiss he looked down to me and slammed his lips onto mine, his arm tightening up around my waist. His lips tasted sweet and sour like the alcohol he'd drank, his finger tips sliding up into my shirt and gently caressing my side.
"Don't tease me now Janet" he said my name in full this time around. I didn't want to seem like a tease but with our state of mind I didn't know if it was exactly the motive I wanted to go for. By now his tongue made entrance to my mouth and his fingers still danced along my back, giving me chills.
"Shut up" I laughed. I could have sworn the both of us sobered up really quick by this point. Well somewhat. Nothing was forced or rough, it was just gently passionate. Nothing I would have expected from Dallas.-
