Charlotte

I wake up to find Mick already gone. I check my phone and see a good morning text from Logan, followed by a few messages asking why I'm not in the paddock yet.

Groaning at how late I slept in, I quickly get up and change into a Mercedes shirt and a pair of jeans.

As I head over to the paddock, I'm greeted by fans as I scan my pass. I wave as I walk towards hospitality.

"You're exceptionally late," Mick says as I join him for food.

"Well, someone should've woken me up," I say pointedly.

"Yeah, but then you would've been mad at me," he replies.

"No, I wouldn't have," I protest.

"Mhm," he says, drinking his water.

"Oh, and by the way, most of the drivers already know about you and Logan," Mick says.

"How many people did you tell?" I ask.

"Just George and Lewis, but then they told everyone else," he says.

I nod. "Yeah, they're happy for you. Alex is just annoyed that Logan is sulking right now because you're not in the garage and he has to be a third wheel," he says, showing me his texts with Alex.

I giggle. "Maybe I should head over," I say.

He nods. "Yeah, they're also in their hospitality right now," he says.

I nod and get up, heading over to Williams hospitality. Noticing Alex, Lily, and Logan sitting and talking, I walk up behind Logan.

"What's this I hear about you complaining about third-wheeling?" I say, sitting down next to Lily.

"Which one of you told her?" Logan complains.

"I did. Well, actually, I told Mick and then he told me she wasn't in the paddock yet," Alex says.

"Yeah, I got here like 20 minutes ago," I say.

"Well, you're welcome to sit in the garage during FP2," Logan says.

"I guess I will, not for you though, definitely only for Lily," I say, giggling.

"At least I'll have someone to talk to," Lily says as we stand up and head to the garage.

Lily and Alex walk ahead of us, hand in hand.

"Glad you chose to come to the paddock today," Logan says.

"Yeah, I almost didn't. I kinda just wanted to bed rot today," I laugh.

"Well, I'm glad you chose against it," he laughs back as we head into the garage.

I take a seat in the back next to Lily as the boys get ready for FP2. We chat as we watch the boys go out for their laps.

"Do you wanna go out for dinner tonight? Alex, George, Carmen, and I were gonna go on a double date, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind making it a triple date," she says.

"I mean, I'm down. Just ask Logan," I say.

"Oh, we did. He said it depends on what you say," she laughs.

"Of course he did," I laugh with her.

As FP2 comes to an end, the boys head to briefings, so Lily and I head back to the hotel to get ready with Carmen.

I grab a dress from my room along with my makeup bag and head up to Carmen's.

"Sooooo, how did this happen?" Lily asks as she curls her hair.

"Well, Mick was asking about us and I kinda realized we never put labels on anything, even after he kissed me. So, like, I kinda just told him we needed to talk and we established some things, and then now we're together," I say as I finish my eyeliner.

"You guys kissed?" Carmen asks.

I nod, plugging in my hair curler. "Yeah, I mean, it's not like it hasn't happened before, but this time it actually meant something," I say.

"What do you mean, it's happened before?" Lily questions as she continues to curl her hair.

"Oh, uhm, well..." I say.

"No, you can't just say that and move on," Carmen says.

"Well, so we were stupid kids and we didn't wanna be the only people in our class who hadn't had their first kiss yet, so we did. And it truly meant nothing, or at least I thought, because Logan, when he asked me the other day, said that he's been in love with me forever," I say.

I watch their jaws drop as I continue to curl my hair in the mirror. When we finish getting ready, we head down to the lobby and meet Alex and Logan, as George came back to the room while we were getting ready.

As we walk to the restaurant, we all engage in conversation, laughing and enjoying each other's company. The atmosphere is light and carefree, a welcome break from the intensity of the paddock.

At the restaurant, we settle into a cozy booth. The conversation flows easily, everyone sharing stories and jokes.

"Do you remember that time in chemistry class?" I say, glancing at Logan with a mischievous grin.

"Oh no, don't bring that up," Logan groans, but he's smiling.

"What happened?" Alex asks, intrigued.

"Logan mixed the wrong chemicals and set off the fire alarm. The whole school had to evacuate," I say, laughing.

"Hey, in my defense, it was an honest mistake," Logan says, chuckling.

The rest of the evening passes in a blur of laughter and good food. As we head back to the hotel, I feel a deep sense of contentment. Being with Logan, surrounded by friends who care about us, everything feels right.

Back in our room, Mick looks up from his phone as I enter. "Have fun?" he asks.

"Yeah, it was great," I say, smiling as I flop onto my bed.

"Good," he says, turning off his phone. "You deserve it."

As I drift off to sleep, I can't help but think about how lucky I am
