Amy
I couldn't believe what the principal was saying at first until she showed me the envelope. I'm now sitting in class after lunch replaying what just happened.
AT THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE
"Amy, how're you doing?" The principal, Ms. Nonez, said looking at me and smiling.
"I'm good, thank you, what about you?" I asked her.
"Well, you know. I heard you're doing great with the new clubs, I'm really proud of you Amy." She said looking at me.
"Thank you, Ms. Nonez." I answered her.
"Well the reason I called you here would be because your mother just send a letter to give you." She said picking up an envelope.
"What is it?" I asked her.
"No idea, I didn't open it, and she said when you get home to look under her mattress and you'll find something there." I thanked her and left before she could see the tears running down my face. It was nice of Jeremiah to sit with me even if I wasn't talking, but I had made up my mind. I had to stay away from him until I figure out what to do. I spent the rest of class, thinking and going over my plans, but I couldn't come up with anything. School ended in a blur, I had no idea what happened.
"I'm going in with you this time. I don't care what you have to say." Jeremiah told me once we reached my house, like always his dad was watching, but I couldn't care less, so I let him in.
"What's going on?" He asked me again.
"Why do you care?" I asked him.
"Because I care about you, and something's wrong." He said looking at me.
"You care about me? I wouldn't if I were you. It might get in trouble." I told him going up the stairs to my room.
"Who cares if I get in trouble? I care about you a lot and nothing's going to change that, so please tell me what's going on. By the way where's your mom?" He asked me.
"She's out and will be back later. I already told you there's nothing wrong. I'm fine. Now please go before you get in trouble." I told him trying to get him to leave so I could go look under my mom's mattress
"I don't believe you, but I do have to go, come here." He told me meeting me on the stairs.
"What?" I asked him, but he walked up to me and kissed me on the lip before saying bye and leaving. Shortly after I heard his dad's angry voice.
