Chapter 11: Vanessa

Before I knew what was happening, I reached over and slapped Jeremiah across his face. We were sitting in my living room talking, it had been almost three weeks since Amy left and she was about to run out of food and she still hadn't called. Compared to the map she left behind she was supposed to have called three times but she never did.

"What the fuck are you trying to say?" I asked Jeremiah again after I was done with him.

"I said I'm going to look for her myself. It's my fault what happened to her family because of my stupid dad. I don't know what's happening to her right now, and besides I think I know who's the reason she hasn't called." He told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

"I heard my dad talking on the phone last night, and I think I know what's happening to Amy as we speak." He told me.

"Well you better start talking before I hit you again." I told him to sit down.

"I think my dad knows where Amy is." He told me.

"How could that be? Did he see the map?" I asked him.

"No, I think he send someone after her." He told me and I smiled.

"Good, meaning he's trying to bring her back to us." I told him hoping I was right.

"No, I don't think he wants her back if you know what I'm talking about." He said, and I sat back down.

"Fuck" I said.

"So I'm going after her." He said again.

"What if something happens to you too?"

"I have to make sure she's safe because by now she's almost out of everything and not one single call ever since, you know what she told us."

"Okay, I'll go with you."

"No you won't, Amy's already missing. You're staying."

"I want to help."

"I know, that's why I have the perfect job for you."

"Which is?"

"You have to find a way to keep track on my dad and his phone calls. As soon as you know something you let me know. I'm leaving tomorrow night."

"Good, I'll help you get ready."
