Amy

"Hey you're back already. And you have more than your school bag, what's going on?" I asked Jeremiah when I noticed him standing in front of my door with two bags in his hands.

"Um, would you mind if I stay here?" He asked me smiling.

"You can come in and tell me what's going on." I told him letting him in.

"Okay how about this? My dad kicked me out." He said walking in. I spent the next few minutes listening as he was telling me what happened.

"I'm sorry. You shouldn't let me come between you and your dad. It's not right. Just listen to him and leave me the fuck alone then." I told him.

"I'm really sorry please don't be mad at me Amy." He said.

"So, you think your dad killed my dad for something he didn't even do?" I asked him with tears running down my face.

"Amy...." He was saying but I cut him off.

"Nah, don't worry about it. And yes you can stay here if you want. I'll be back" I told him going up to my room. when I got there, I couldn't control the tears so I let them come down and wash over me. I don't know how long I stayed there until I heard Jeremiah knocking at the door.

"What?" I answered.

"Look, I'm sorry okay, but please come out" he said. I got up and opened the door, and he hugged me.

"I'm so sorry, but know that I had nothing to do with it. I might even be wrong." He told me.

"So, for how long are you planning to stay here?" I asked him.

"No idea, he's probably going to come up here trying to get me back, but what do we do about your mom?" he asked me.

"I told you I'm going after her." I told him.

"You know people are getting suspicious, they haven't seen her in months." He told me.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked him and before he had a chance to answer, there was a loud knock on the door.

"I got it." I told him and went down to open the door thinking that it was his father.

"Is your name Amy Ezra Zechariah? The police officer asked me after I opened the door.

"Um, yes it is, is there a problem?"

"You're going to have to come with me." He said pulling out a handcuff.

"Not until you tell me what I did.."

"We got a call from across the street concerning your mother. Ms. Amy Ezra Zechariah you are under arrest for the murder of your mother Amber zechariah, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court law." He told me.

"WHAT?!! What are you talking about?!!" I asked him when Jeremiah rushed out.

"Officer you are making a big mistake." He said.

"Are you Jeremiah?" he asked me.

"Yes, and I heard you say my father called you? He's lying. He's just mad.

"I'm sorry, but I have to take her in, your father is at the police station," he told Jeremiah.

"I'm coming too, but I'm telling you you're making a mistake. You can ask anyone." Jeremiah said as we both got in the car.

"Do I look like I could kill someone? Seriously. My own mother?" I said.

When we got to the police station, they led Jeremy and I in a small room with a table and three chairs where they started questioning me.
