"Listen to the people who love you. Believe that they are worth living for even when you don't believe it. Seek out the memories depression takes away and project them into the future. Be brave; be strong; take your pills. Exercise because it's good for you even if every step weighs a thousand pounds. Eat when food itself disgusts you. Reason with yourself when you have lost your reason."

Chapter 17: Amy
"Does it look like I'm after your sorry ass?" I asked the squirrel. I've been sitting and staring at it for probably a good half an hour. There was an acorn on the ground, and he's been watching me and hesitating to go get it. By now I was getting farther away from the woods and still no signs of my mom. The problem was that I didn't know where I was or where to go next. I didn't know why, but I decided to get off the ground and started walking around looking at the trees, out of all the trees I had been seeing for the past couple of weeks, this one was my favorite one. It was probably the biggest tree here. I started walking around it and touching it until I noticed a little writing on it along with a picture. It was hard to see, but then I started rubbing my hands on it, and I almost screamed when I noticed what kind of picture it was. It was a little heart and what made me happy was what was writing in the middle of it. It was none other than my family name, I looked and sure enough there was my name, my dad's name and also my mother's name.
"She was here." I whispered to myself. I then started looking around, and I suddenly felt stupid for not have been paying attention. On the ground were many clues that my mother was here. I noticed a little purse on the floor, anyone else would have taken it for nothing, but I took it. I knew what it was because it was mine.
"Don't worry mom, I'll find you, sooner or later. You must be very tired by now, and I'm praying that you took a nap long enough to save me time to get to you before you move on to the next location on your list. I was about to starts running when I saw a little light not far away from the tree I was standing next to. I was shocked because it looked like a little farm house and that's when I realized how far from my house I was because sure enough it was a farm house. I looked at the tree again trying to see if there was some kind of connection between from where I was and the little farm house. I looked all around the tree and finally noticed an arrow. I wouldn't have known it was pointing to the farmhouse if I wasn't so observant. I smiled and tried to see the connection, and to my surprise the connection was clear, next to my mother's tiny name the arrow pointed to the house. I smiled before getting all my stuff and walking towards the house. For the first time in weeks I felt as if I had made the right decision, so I held my head up high and walked on.
