I sat in a restaurant with Seth and Ryan as we talked about the senior prom that was a few days away. Seth and Ryan were arguing over the importance of it, while I listened in amusement.
"It's senior prom. It's mythic." Seth stated.
"Yeah, well, it's ties and dresses and photos with parents. Sounds like any other dance to me." Ryan told him.
"It's not. It's a romantic capstone to your entire adolescence."
"Seth's right. Senior prom is supposed to be one of the best nights of your life. Have you thought about who you're going to bring?"
"I don't know."
"What about Theresa?" Seth suggested.
"Uh, yeah I don't think so."
"Why not? You said you two have been spending a lot of time together." I told him.
"We have. Actually, she's coming over to the house tomorrow."
"Okay that's good. I mean, now that the baby thing's resolved, the pressures off. It's perfect. Do it." Seth suggested.
"But I mean, she still has the baby. She can't just..you know.."
"One night. They have these new crazy things called babysitters. I'm just saying, it's senior prom. She's your childhood sweetheart. You have to respect the romantic symmetry."
"You know what? I'll think about it. And I appreciate the two of you not bringing up the idea of Marissa and I going as friends."
"No we get it. It's in the past." I stated.
"Plus I assume she'll be going with Volchok unless he's selling crack to blind kids or something equally as horrible."

I stood in Summer's room as I got dressed for prom with her and Marissa.
"What do you think?" I asked her as I zipped it up. It was a long black dress that was pretty different from my dress last year, but I felt this one matched me more.
"Ally, it's beautiful. You look gorgeous!" She told me and I grinned at her, looking at her long white dress. It looked great on her.
"So do you. Sum, you are definitely winning Prom Queen."
"Oh, no way! If anyone wins, it's gonna be Coop." Summer said.
"Whoa, Marissa!" I stated as Marissa walked in. She was wearing a white dress and it looked great on her. She had her hair pulled up into a bun, which framed her face nicely. I had my hair done a similar way as well. Summer was wearing hers down and curled.
"Thanks. You two look awesome." Marissa told us and I smiled at her.
"So are you three ready to brave our dates then? And the parents?" I asked.
"I don't think we have a choice. Let's go." Marissa told me with a smile.
The three of us headed downstairs where Julie Cooper and Dr. Roberts were waiting.
"Oh wow! You girls look incredible!" Julie stated, pulling out a camera. "I have to get a picture!"
"Okay, Mom just one!" Marissa called as the three of us leaned together. The camera flashed and I smiled as I pulled away.
"You girls have fun, okay?" Dr. Roberts stated as we headed outside. "Thanks Dad, we will."
We made it to my house and I saw Taylor and her date pulling up in the driveway.
"Hey Taylor!" I called.
"Hey! Wow you all look so beautiful!"
"So do you! Is this your date?" I asked, seeing the Korean guy next to her.
