Hehe, people, I hope you will enjoy this one. Yet, a warning about intimate content in this chapter.

"So, I heard you did great on your first day at work," Arius said as he walked past me and sat down with a grin playing on his lips as he crossed his hands behind his head.

"Not exactly how I expected," I replied, sitting next to him and running my fingers through my hair. "Is something wrong?"

I couldn't shake the feeling that something was troubling Arius. His smile seemed forced, his eyes betraying an underlying worry.

"I'm just worried about my brother and his intentions toward you," he admitted, gently taking my hand.

I furrowed my brow, confused and unsettled. I'd never met Zaidh personally, but Arius had told me enough. Zaidh's personality was complex and volatile, making it nearly impossible to fully understand him. What I couldn't understand, though, was why he hated me without even knowing me.

"I've never even met your brother," I said, trying to wrap my mind around it. "How can he already hate me so much?"

"You already know how difficult Zaidh can be," Arius replied, his voice laced with frustration. "His obsession with power is dragging him down. Your powers are something he could only dream of."

"Well, I don't give a shit what Zaidh thinks," I chuckled, trying to mask the unease bubbling in my chest. "I'm going to help you, no matter what your brother thinks of me."

A faint smile touched Arius's lips, but the worry in his eyes remained unmistakable. For the first time, I sensed that something wasn't right—or that Arius wasn't telling me everything. His posture remained tense, his hands clasped tightly in his lap as if bracing himself for something unseen. Whatever Zaidh's problem with me was, it wouldn't stop me from standing by Arius.

"I'm glad to hear that," Arius said, his voice softening slightly. "I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe."

I sensed that his fear for me wasn't just about my safety—it ran deeper, tied to something unspoken between him and Zaidh.

I placed my hand gently on his jaw, drawing his gaze to mine. He looked at me, momentarily confused by the gesture, but his features softened as I traced my fingers along his jawline, tilting his chin ever so slightly.

Slowly, Arius slid his hand to the back of my neck, pulling me closer. I closed my eyes, surrendering to the warmth of his touch and the tenderness of his lips as they met mine.

The kiss was soft, almost hesitant, and his fingers tangled gently in my hair, sending a comforting shiver down my spine. For a fleeting moment, a strange sensation washed over me—like déjà vu. It felt as though we had been here before, sharing this exact moment. And yet, it was entirely new, as if both of us were experiencing it for the very first time

I didn't understand the rush of emotions coursing through me. It felt like the fluttering excitement of kissing a long-time crush for the first time. It was exhilarating, a feeling I couldn't quite grasp but one that made my heart race.

As our soft kiss deepened, Arius leaned over me, but then, almost as quickly as it had begun, he pulled away slightly. His green eyes searched mine, his brows furrowing in concentration. He was holding back, but I could see it in his gaze—he wanted it to continue."

"Keira," he whispered, his voice low and steady, as if trying to ground himself. "I don't know if it's—"

"I want you," I cut him off, surprising even myself.

That was all it took.

I didn't understand why, but I couldn't let him go. I ran my fingers through his styled hair, drawing a satisfied sigh from him. Arius gripped my waist and pulled me onto him. Our lips met in a long, intense kiss, and for the first time, I felt a heat radiating from deep inside, spreading through every inch of my skin. Arius felt it too; his hand slipped beneath my shirt, and he pulled away from my lips.
