My days at the hotel went pretty much the same. I studied the book nearly every day, learning each spell in it. My powers grew stronger, and each day, I could cast more and more spells without burning myself.

The book not only contained incantations and rituals but also was a kind of diary of Arius's father. He wrote many things about his children, his powers, and the failed ritual to bring his children back. The last note in the book was about Lazarus and that Asim is entrusting this book to him.

Vampires should be thanking Zaidh because, by stealing the book, he saved them from total destruction. The book contained many rituals against dark creatures that fear sunlight.

The Inquisitors wield light magic, which is extremely dangerous to all dark creatures, including vampires. That is why I kept burning myself while casting them.

I was able to cast all these spells, but the magic was also hurting my body because I was a vampire. I seem to have transformed into some kind of hybrid. What surprised me even more was that Arius could also cast some of the spells.

Arius told me that Asim had shared his magic with Arius when he was a child and taught him how to use magical powers. I think Arius and his siblings were a sort of mages before they were turned into vampires.

This left me wondering why Arius could not see those writings despite his ability to cast spells. Asim had specifically protected certain rituals from Arius, and I felt a slight concern rising about Arius's plan. Perhaps Asim and Lazarus had a good reason to start this eternal war between mages and dark creatures?

After studying the book, a few things caught my attention in particular. All of the spells and rituals were categorized into different categories, from easy ones to very complicated ones. The most complicated were the ritual of freedom, the ritual of cleansing, and the ritual of resurrection.

Asim wrote that these powerful rituals possess the ability to alter destinies, with each alteration causing a ripple effect that reshapes the entire chain of events. He also called them the dark magic. There was a lot of spels in that category and the rituals were part of it.

Recognizing the immense danger posed by these rituals, they were forbidden by the ground sorcerer. Only magicians with an extraordinary gift could read the symbolic language in which all dangerous spells and rituals were written.

The ritual of freedom was meant to absorb powers from magicians and free them from their destinies. Asim wrote that this spell could be used if the magicians became dangerous to society.

The ritual of cleansing was meant to gather all magic from all supernatural creatures, leaving Earth without any magic at all. Arius's dad wrote that the mage who would perform this ritual should have immense power and should be well trained because it is unknown whether a human body could contain such a large amount of magic. That's why no one had ever used this ritual.

The Ritual of Resurrection had the power to bring the dead back to life. However, the page detailing this ritual was marked with warning symbols and crosses. The ritual demanded a blood sacrifice, and its instructions were intricate and lengthy. Arius's father noted with caution that any deviation from the precise steps outlined in the ritual would lead to unpredictable and disastrous outcomes.

Asim marked that each use of dark magic weaknes the souceres and it means that the dark magical side could be awaken.

There wasn't much information in the book about mages and their characteristics, so I couldn't quite understand what Asim meant by that. I was more interested in what Arius had told me.

He told me that all we needed to do was perform one ritual, so I began to wonder if it was one of those rituals from his father's book. Yet Arius hadn't mentioned anything about the ritual being dangerous.
