After the boy slammed out of his room Kiri looked down and realised he was stark naked, shiyaa, he thought to himself but then again, it was hardly his fault when that boy just wandered in. He knew he had a good body so he wasn't too embarrassed and at least it hadn't been the lady who checked him in.

Walking across to his bag he pulled out fresh underwear, navy blue pants and a clean white shirt, that would be smart but casual enough for an alfresco dinner then he dressed quickly before strapping on his watch and after looking at the time he saw there was still plenty of time before dinner so he decided to do some work.

Lon had gone to visit an acquaintance who lived about twenty miles away and had called to say they had invited him to sleep over so he would stay there and get the correct directions to the venue then he would return to collect Kiri early the following morning.

Kiri wasn't angry at Lon, they had been firm friends since the last orphanage he had lived in and it was hardly his fault that the navigation system in the rental car had decided to stop working.

The proprietor of the bed & breakfast had invited him for Sunday lunch too but it seemed it was some sort of a family tradition so Kiri, not wanting to intrude had made his excuses saying he was tired, even so he was grateful for the invite, she seemed like a lovely lady.

While he looked over his documents for the conference tomorrow he thought about the boy, perhaps he had been a tad rude to him after all, his comments in the car had been derogatory. He had been travelling for many hours with little sleep and when Lon took a wrong turn down all the winding country lanes it was as much as he could take and the boy had been an easy target.

Kiri decided if he saw him again he would apologise but he doubted that would happen considering he had to leave early in the morning and by the time the barbecue started he would probably have gone home ... the documents once again called for his attention and the boy was forgotten.

Several hours later Kan was leaning against a fence post, barbecue tongs in one hand and a glass of beer in the other, he looked quite the chef if you didn't count the novelty pvc apron displaying a muscular male torso wearing tiny black briefs.

Champ who had arrived ten minutes ago couldn't help laughing at his friends outfit and heads together they were planning a charity football match where the players would wear nothing but these novelty aprons with shorts beneath, it would be a riot!

Sheila, Kan's mum flitted around filling the guest's glasses with their chosen beverage and Sucharit, Kan's dad was talking to Jack, one of their neighbors whom they had also invited because he was a widower.

Suddenly all the chattering stopped and Kan looked up to follow everyone's gaze, it was the asshole himself looking like a fucking supermodel in his casual navy slacks and white shirt while striding through the gardens as if he owned the place and walking straight up to his mum.

"looks like you've got a bit of competition for the girls Champ" Kan said to his friend "but then again after they talk to him for five minutes you might just have a shot"

"why, what's wrong with him?" Champ questioned

"what's right with him more like! you should have heard what he said to me earlier"

"tell me more" Champ said, their voices blurring as the chatter started again

"oh Mr Junphanatat, I'm so glad you decided to join us this evening, and isn't it a lovely evening? Is everything comfortable in the cottage?" Sheila asked her guest

"everything is lovely, thank you Mrs Thiwat" Kiri said

"call me Sheila, we don't stand on ceremony here young man" she replied and continued "did you meet my son earlier?, follow me and I'll introduce you to my baby Kan"

"Kan, come over here and meet Mr Junphanatat while I bring him a drink, what would you like to drink young man?" Sheila asked.

"Anything cold will be fine Sheila, thank you" Kiri responded and just as he did a voice called out behind him.

"we already met mum" the voice drawled in a bored manner

Kiri turned to see the boy from earlier, his gaze raking up and down his body taking in the apron and accessories.

"son?, this boy is your son?"

"yes dear, he's 24 but he's still my baby"

"muuuum" Kan whined before his mum walked off to bring her guest his cold drink.

There was an awkward moment before Kan spoke,

"ok, so we met, bye!" then he turned to leave but was intercepted by Kiri's hand grabbing his arm.

"I need to have a word with you, can we go somewhere less public?" Kiri asked.

"I'm sure whatever you want to say to me can be said here, Mr Junphanatat" Kan said in a sarcastic manner.

"look, I wanted to apologize. I was exhausted after a long journey, irritable, hell I still am but I took it out on you and that was wrong, I'm sorry" and Kiri held out his hand as a gesture of peace.

Kan looked at the man's outstretched hand then back up at his face, is this guy for real he thought.

"are you kidding me?" Kan half shouted at him trying to keep his voice down because of the other guest's and his parent's.

"you're only apologizing because you found out that I can speak Thai and understood your nasty little comments so why don't you get lost, I don't need your fake apology" and Kan turned to walkaway without taking the proffered hand but not before Kiri once again grabbed his arm and gently spun him back to face him.

"I told you, it's not like that, I'm trying to apologise to you for being an asshole earlier" Kiri tried again.

"what's the point, it's not like we'll see each other again, don't worry about it man, I'm not!" Kan had the last word before returning to his barbecue duties and fooling around with Champ.

Sheila came back and gave Kiri a cold drink and after exchanging a few pleasantries with him she left to take care of the other guest's then Kiri found somewhere to sit and couldn't help but keep glancing over at the boy Sheila called Kan.

He wasn't bad looking, tall but not quite as tall as me Kiri thought, he looked like he was quite fit, probably from all the football Sheila had told him about. Brown hair with splashes of caramel and brown eyes with flecks of gold, unblemished skin and he had a beautiful smile when he saw him smiling at the other boy but why did that piss him off?

He thought it was a shame that things had turned out this way, a one night stand would have been a great way to de-stress then he felt a tinge of guilt for having such lascivious thoughts about Sheila and Sucharit's son but the feeling didn't last long.

Kiri didn't do love with all the trimmings and Kan was a grown man, old enough to make his own decisions and Kiri doubted very much he was still a virgin at 24.

The alcohol was beginning to take effect and after polishing off a burger and fending off a young girl who was trying to get his attention, Kiri decided to head back to his cottage and get some sleep. He said goodnight to his host's and Sheila reassured him that she would be up at 5.30am to make sure he had a good breakfast before he left.

Kan who had been dancing on the makeshift patio dance floor was beckoned over to say goodnight to which he responded,

"yeah goodnight, don't let the bed bugs bite" then he started sniggering to his friend again as his mum clipped him round the ear while apologising for his behaviour.

Kiri made his way back to his cottage and after a quick shower climbed into his bed, what? good night, don't let the bed bugs bite? that brat really knew how to push his buttons, if only he had more time but to do what, he wasn't quite sure?
