Blake woke up the next day to the scent of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the house. She stretched, feeling the pleasant soreness from the previous night's adventures at the carnival. As she woke up she took in the familiar surroundings of her childhood bedroom. Posters of Michael Schumacher and Kimi Räikkönen were hung up on her walls.
She always had a slight crush on Kimi, Lando would never fail to make fun of her for it. Finally, slipping out of bed, she made her way downstairs, following the comforting aroma.
As she reached the bottom of the stairs, Blake heard the familiar sound of her mother's laughter. Peeking into the kitchen, she saw Lando sitting at the table, sharing a joke with Anna. He looked up and grinned when he saw Blake.
"Morning, sleepyhead," Lando greeted, holding up a mug. "Your mom makes a mean cup of coffee."
"Isnt it already like three PM?" Blake questioned, taking the mug he offered.
"I don't see the problem, it's never too late for coffee." Lando shrugged. Blake laughed at the boy. "Guess so, thanks, by the way, mum." The girl thanked the older woman standing by the kitchen island.
Anna smiled warmly at her daughter. "No problem, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, I did," Blake replied, taking a sip of coffee. She felt a sense of calm and joy, being back home with her family and Lando.
Blake took a seat on one of the chairs still feeling quite tired from the carnival and flight the night before.
"Did you have fun at the carnival?" The elder woman asked cheerfully eyeing the two kids.
Blake nodded. "Yeah, it was amazing. We were out so late though, I think we exhausted ourselves."
"Personally, I'd say it was worth it." Lando chimed in as he sipped on his mug.
