There was just something about the smell of sweat, the muscle exertion when they sparred. As exhausting as it could get, sometimes it fueled Kai even more. Sometimes, when he was after an uneasy night that kept bringing up wrong images at the wrong time.

Cole pinned him down but despite all the yesrs of experience, Kai could not summon the power within himself to fight back. For once his competitiveness went out of the window and all that filled his mind was the want to switch their roles, pin Cole down, trace his perfect features with his lips, make him squirm. At least the feeling of his ragged breath hitting his face was the same.

So what if he got a little lost inside his mind every once in a while, it wasn't like he and Cole were ever going to fight on the opposite sides.

After being together for so long, Cole could decipher the half-lidded look Kai was giving him without an issue. What was an issue was how to take care of it. It was too difficult to resist. Not just on its own, it usually came with Kai's persuading tactics, which had a 99% success rate.

The problem with living with so many people was how little privacy one, let alone two, could get. Not that Kai and Cole had anything against the others hearing them, it was rather the other way around.

Lucky for them, that evening some gala event was taking place in Ninjago City. A gala event they both decided not to attend the moment they received their invites. The same could not be said for the rest.

“Keep it in your pants,” Cole muttered, urgence lacing his voice. There were more romantic plans thrown around in regards of the evening but most plans do not remain set in stone. It was just that once Kai's mind settled on something, he went for it, no matter how many better opportunities there could be. The last thing Cole needed was to fight against Kai's suggestions – which was already a lost fight. It was a lost fight the moment he got to know Kai.

“I want you in my pants,” Kai grunted before pushing him off. At least they were both aware that there was only a few hours separating them from owning the place.

Then them, just them, and so much privacy they didn't get in so long.

“Save it for later, okay?” That earned him a kiss from Kai – with a proper bite to the lower lip to let him know that he was balancing on a thin line.

Training was cut short that day so the rest could have enough time to shower and get ready. To his surprise, Kai did not join Cole, or even make a remark about it but he did decide to forgo the t-shirt and let his muscular body glisten in the light.

Cole had to be reminded many times–not just by himself–to stop staring. Somehow, dating Kai was the most dreadful yet exhilarating experience.

Zane was once again ruling the kitchen, preparing just a small and simple dinner as there would most likely be a feast at the concert hall. Nya made sure Jay looked socially acceptable and Lloyd made sure to hide from facing the same destiny.

Not even then, when they were all by themselves in the living room, did Kai make an advance. At least a straight forward one. And Kai would never miss an opportunity to make out with Cole.

Unless he was trying to make him beg. And, to his misfortune, Cole was sure he would achieve that without putting too much effort into it. That he got from courteously observing Kai get some more workout done in the meantime.
