Here I was, yet again, in this place, this... Dark Dimension; a place deep within the very heart of the dark side of the Force.
A vast, endless expanse of grey or blood red sand that seemed to stretch on forward towards eternity. When looking at it, one cannot help but ask: has it always been like this? Truly, not even the heart of the dark side can be this desolate a place from the moment of it's very conception.
The ground I walked on was sand-- sand everywhere from here and there and there were also small hill ranges that were the red color of blood. The skies seemed a jumbled up, mismatch of dark blue and blood red and the lightning struck as it pleased. Walking, walking, walking, there was nothing to do but walk and there was but a vast expanse of an endless sea of red sand and the blowing winds of lonely desolation.
My spirit had left my body as I entered this realm. Now, I looked nothing like a human. My body was bloody red and like a fire with lightning; my eyes glowed like a furnace in the dark and the darkness came to me like an armor, with a horned helmet to top it all off.
As I walked and walked, there was something like a wall of fire and I could see the past, from the very birth of the universe, upto the modern day. I saw the shaping of the universe, the celestials who gave it form, a damned plague from another realm that caused the Unknown Regions to form and a family. In this family was a servant-woman, who drank from the light and went to a pool of darkness; she emerged as a being of pure terror-- an abomination. Her family locked her in a black hole for eternity.
I then saw the Kwa/Qwa and their foolish decision to teach the Rakata, the latter rebelling and using their technology to subjugate the wider galaxy. I saw the Je'daii order and the rise of the Old Republic and it's early wars. I also saw the schisms and the jedi order forming. I saw the first sith emerge and 5,000 years of endless war between light and dark engulf the galaxy until one among them, Bane, destroyed the sith and emerge as the sith'ari.
I also saw, during that period, the wars my people waged. The early days, the dynastic struggles, the expansion and the campaigns of conquest-- I saw it all. I watched as it soon fell apart and a humiliating two centuries of Republic occupation destroyed my people's pride.
And, it all climaxed onto the modern era. The Clone Wars, the revenge of the sith, the rise of the Empire and my rise within it.
I saw myself in that wall of fire but not exactly as myself, for it was me when I was young, perhaps 7-8 years of age. I saw my mother nearby and the sight of her gave me an ache in the heart; I missed her dearly. Her clothing, the shape of her face, the color of her eye... why, I had almost forgotten them completely!
The young me stumbled upon the sand and fell down. He looked up to see his shadow and was startled; it was not the shadow of a boy but of a grown man-- his older self. Then his older self, in his full body armor and with his lightsaber, leapt at him and child-me screamed in fear.
