"Hitting me for something that wasn't entirely my fault, that's not very nice." Reece's voice was quieter now, a hint of vulnerability in his words. He tried to explain himself, but Tatiana's anger still simmered beneath the surface. Reece clenched his jaw as Tatiana cut him off, her words striking a nerve. "I don't give a fuck about that, I'm talking about the next morning when you were SOBER, practically saying that I ain't shit to you." Tatiana snapped at Reece.
The interview he had done had clearly hurt her more than he realized. "I didn't mean it like that Tat.." Reece spoke out, his voice defensive. "I was just trying to keep things private. We don't exactly have a solid future together right now. We both know that." Reece's words hung in the air, the truth of their uncertain future weighing heavily on both of them.
Tatiana stared at him, her anger giving way to a mix of disappointment and resignation. "I wonder why that is, Reece." Tatiana crossed her arms and glared at him when Selwyn decided to speak up to defend Tatiana. "I mean... Isn't this kind of Reece's fault though? Didn't tell anyone where you were going, made some pretty bad decisions there, then did an interview.."
Reece shot a sharp look at Selwyn, a flicker of irritation in his eyes. He didn't appreciate his friend chiming in and taking Tatiana's side, even if he had a point. "Stay out of this bro," he groaned, his voice laced with annoyance. "Nobody asked you for a recap."
Selwyn held up his hands in a defensive gesture, backing off slightly. He knew Reece was irritated at him for butting in, but he couldn't help but feel like it was necessary to point out the flaws in Reece's actions. "I'm just saying," Selwyn replied, his tone mild. "You made a few questionable decisions, and now Tati is feeling hurt and embarrassed. It's worth considering, ya know?"
Reece narrowed his eyes in response. "What are you her lapdog now?" Selwyn laughed at Reece's mocking question, his own irritation starting to surface. He clenched his jaw and replied in a firm tone. "No, mate, I'm not anyone's lapdog. I just don't like seeing Tatiana hurt, especially when it's because of your poor decisions."
"Nah you know what, Selwyn's right. So.. Enjoy your second L of the year pretty boy, hope this hurts worse than that tackle." Tatiana said with a loud scoff while she shook her head at Reece who stood in front of her. Reece's face turned into disbelief then a pained expression as he blinked away a few tears from his eyes.
Selwyn's smile widened slightly, enjoying his own cheeky jab at Reece. Jordan beside him just shook his head in disbelief, silently warning his friend to tread carefully. "Easy, bro," Jordan muttered under his breath, a hint of amusement in his tone. "You might be next on Tati's list of targets."
With a shake of his head, Selwyn grinned. "Nah not me bro, I'm her number one supporter." Selwyn gave a laugh, sharing the inside joke that he had going with Tatiana. Jordan gave a laugh at his words before they continued to listen to Tatiana and Reece fight.
"Tati why are you saying that for..?" Reece choked out, their friends watched the two silently. Nobody had any words to say, they were too shocked by their fighting. Most of their arguments had been playful, they did sometimes become real and partly physical.. And this was proving to be one of the times it was actually real. That was what caused instant worry amongst the group of friends.
Reece, feeling a mix of anger and hurt, turned his gaze towards Selwyn to humiliate him for his comment. A bitter smile tugged at his lips as he spoke up in a mocking tone.
"Ah, right, Tati's supporter," he sneered. "And how's that going for you, bro? Still hoping she'll give you the time of day?" Selwyn tried to keep a level expression on his face. Tatiana, meanwhile, looked a bit taken aback by Reece's words. Selwyn took a deep breath and replied in a calm tone, trying to defuse the situation. "Hey, there's no need for that, bro. We're all friends here."
