Y/n's pov

"Brian! Come and get your sister!" I couldn't help but to giggle as I continued to pull at my dad's hair. He acted like he was annoyed by this, but in reality, he couldn't help but to find it endearing. He enjoyed my childish self tugging on his locks because who knows what could happen between us tomorrow.

My older brother gave him a side glance, not wanting my fingers anywhere near him because he also had longer hair. "Yeah, and have her grubby little hands scalp me? I'll pass on this one dad." He grabbed the remote off of the coffee table to switch the channel. "Oh cmon, she won't bother you. She likes you more than anyone else in this household." Brian scoffed, getting up as a small smirk grew on his face. I looked over at him and stopped pulling on my dad's hair, getting a bit worried about what he was about to do.

"Oh no. Save me, dad!" He ducked away from Brian who lifted me up into his arms and threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. "So you think it's funny to make dad go bald, huh?!" Our father threw his hands up, not appreciating Brian's comment. I only giggled at that and swung my legs around, trying to escape his hold. All I could see was the tile flooring as he ran around the house, swinging my body around as well. "Bri please! My head is pounding!"

"Not until you promise to leave our scalps alone!" We circled the dining room table once more before we all heard the front door open. Brian froze seeing our mother in the hallway, with her hand on her hip. I looked around, knowing I couldn't do anything and just stayed put.

She only sighed and put her purse on the table. "Just don't hurt her before dinner is done." I moaned in dramatic agony as my brother only laughed. He then ran over to the living room and threw my body down onto the couch. A big "oof" came out of my mouth as my back hit the cushions. He couldn't stop laughing at me and decided to fall into the spot next to me. "You're such a little gremlin , Y/n. Never change."

It was upsetting to be in my household as of recently. I was not used to my parents arguing because they were always so good to each other. They only knew how to show love and affection...it's now strange to even dawn back on those memories as all they could do was tear the other down.

A small sob left my lips as my body shook a bit. Hearing my parents fight wasn't something I would've ever thought I'd witness, but I couldn't help but to think that this would be an ongoing issue in our house. I flinched and looked up at the sound of my door creaking open.

It was only my older brother. He slipped in through the crack and looked at me with a pained expression. He kneeled down beside me, removing the blanket from around my head. "Cmon, let's get out of here." He grabbed my hand and made sure I grabbed a pair of sandals to slip on as he already had his shoes on.
