The next day, their schedule began like usual.
It was lunchtime. When Sid came out of his cabin he was going to pick Hazel up from school. He saw Avni walking out of the meeting room with clients. He stood for her to be free from clients.
In a minute, she walked towards him.
Sid: Meeting ho gayi jaldi?
Avni: Haa... Discussions smoothly ho gayi sab. Acha tum lunch karo. Main jati hoon Hazel ko pick karne.
Sid: Tum jao lunch karo. Main vaise bhi jaa hi raha tha.
Just then Akshit came there.
Akshit (acting surprise): Avni teri meeting aaj jaldi kaise ho gayi?
Avni rolled her eyes. Sid chuckled.
Sid: Tum jao. Lunch karo main aata hoon Hazel ko leke.
Avni: Sidoo-
Akshit (cuts her): Hold on guys! Dono hi chale jao. Lunch bhi bahar kha kar aana. Date bhi ho jayegi maybe.
He teased them.
Avni: Tu pagalo wali harkate band kar.
Sid: Idea actually sahi hai. Chal Avni hum thora time bhi spend kar lege. Teri meeting ho gayi. Tu free hai abhi. Hazel bhi khush ho jayegi.
With this, he held her hand and started walking, not giving her a chance to argue. Avni shook her head and walked with him.
They settled down in the car and went towards Hazel's school. They were talking about random things when something strikes in Avni's mind.
Avni: Sid how is Akshit?
Sid gave her a confused look.
Avni: I mean to say how he is as a guy? Like you as a person?
Sid: He is nice but wait tum aese kyun puch rahi ho suddenly?
Avni: Koi suddenly nahi pucha. Normal question hai. Now stop back questioning and answer me.
Sid (shrugging his shoulders): He is good maybe like ahh!! Yaa we can say smart, handsome, understanding. Ab iske aage kya bolu?
Avni giggle.
Avni: Okay! Tum aese sochte ho kya like he did wrong like he broke up with me.
Sid: Avni kya soch rahi ho tum? Ye sab to kal ki baate hai. Humara aaj humare liye important hai, jo ho gaya usko bhul jao.
Avni (rolling her eyes in mind): Abhi bolugi di ke liye phir words same hoge?
Sid (shaking her): Itna kya soch rahi ho? Jo bhi baat hai mujhe clear batao. Ye baato ko ghumana band karo.
She came to her senses. Avni got quiet for some seconds. Sid was impatiently waiting for her to answer his question.
Avni: Umm... Tum pehle promise karo main jo bhi bolugi vo sahi se sunoge and properly sochoge. Bas pagal jaise action nahi loge jisse future me regret ho. Promise me.
Sid: Is everything alright?
Avni: Haa don't worry. Promise me.
Sid: Okay baba! I promise main sab ache se sun kar, soch samajh kar hi karuga. Ab bolo kya baat hai. Itna ghuma kyun rahi ho baat ko.
Avni: Umm... Sid the thing is Di and Akshit like each other.
He gave her a shocked look. He took a few minutes to process her words in his brain.
Avni (nervous): Promise kiya hai tumne. Possessive bhai type ban kuch bhi decision nahi lena.
Sid (shocked): But-
Avni (cuts him): Promise promise promise. Bas ye yaad karo. Aur haa as boyfriend ye tumhara first promise hai. Tumhe complete karna hi hoga. Dekho maine tumhe decision lene ka full acha sa chance diya hai. So, you better use it smartly.
Sid (rolling his eyes): Tumhe pata bhi hai aaj kaisi behki behki baate kar rahi ho tum? And ye first promise nahi hai mera. Mera first promise ye hai ke main marte dam tak tumhare aur Hazel ke sath hoon. Aur ab second promise mat bolna ab kyunki vo-
Avni (irritated, cutting him in mid): Huh!! Bas karo. Main counting nahi karugi. Mujhe nahi aati. Tum kaam ki baat karo ab. Nahi rehn do. Ab ye topic par tum pehle ache se socho phir hi baat karege hum.
Sid rolled his eyes.
Avni (calmly): Bhai ho tum di ke as a brother I know you want your di to be always happy. I am not saying you ke Akshit hi sahi hai for di. But haa Akshit ko past par judge mat karna. Life me ups and downs hote hai. And if koi person koi ek do responsibility lene ko ready nahi ho to tum usko is baat par judge kar villain nahi bana sakte. He was always respectful and loyal. He never complained or demanded anything. Aur kami to har insaan me hoti hai. Please don't judge him on this. Usne ye responsibility ke liye na bola tabhi hi you got chance. It was all destiny's plan. Tum please soch samajh kar decide karna about this. Baki tum as brother jo decision lo.
Sid (nodded in understanding): Tumhe kaise pata chala?
Avni: Umm... Hazel se... I mean hum date par jate hai to Hazel unke sath hoti thi na to vo batati hai and uske hisab I observed.
Sid nodded, thinking something.
