"Alright class, you might want to settle in. This will be a really fun project, and I'm going to explain directions before allowing you to choose your preferred partner for this lab," spoke their teacher before turning back to the chalkboard.

Val turned her gaze toward Riley sitting across the room from her, but still in eyesight. Riley looked back, and they nod at each other. Already choosing to be each other's partners.

"So this one is going to be using different types of liquids and colors, you will be using them to create your ow-" she said as she continued speaking to the class.

The class became excited at the idea of being able to use these colors, and we're all smiling as they chatted to their friends beside them which one they may want to use.

"Okay class, you may get up and move around. You can choose one other person to work with for this project," the teacher smiled as she went silent allowing the kids to have a moment to choose their partners.

Riley got up before stalking toward where Val sat. She then saw a guy walk up to Val.

"Hey I was wondering if you wanted to work together," he asked her with an annoyingly overused tone, winking at Val in the process.

"Sorry bud, I think I'd rather work with my girlfriend. Nice try though, maybe you'll get lucky with some other girl," she said smirking at him.

"Whatever," he said going red from embarrassment, as he rolled his eyes and walked away to some other girl.
