"HUHH?"

Sidharth caught her by suprise. "What are you doing?!" Meera shouted a bit trying to get herself out.

"You will thank me later" Sidharth said pulling her at a corner still hugging her. "What? what are you doing Sidharth" she complained.

"Okay alright you want to go? Then go!" Sidharth gently pushed her away, little annoyed. Just then she realized that the dori (string) had come undone.

Her hands, covered in mehendi, made it impossible to tie it back.

She looked around, hoping to find someone to help, but the only person nearby was Sidharth, leaning casually against a tree, his eyes following her every move.

"Kya hua ruk kyu gyi?" Sidharth teased her.

She turned to face him, flustered. "Dori khul gayi hai, aur mere haath mehendi se bhare hue hain."

Sidharth’s expression softened as he stepped closer. "toh abh mai madad karoon?" he asked, a teasing smile playing on his lips.

Meera hesitated, feeling a mix of embarrassment and something she couldn’t quite identify.

Sidharth walked over, his expression softening as he saw the predicament she was in. "Turn around," he said gently.

Meera turned her back to him, her heart pounding in her chest. She felt his fingers brush against her bare skin as he took hold of the dori. The touch sent a shiver down her spine.

"Relax," he murmured, his breath warm against her neck.

Sidharth carefully threaded the dori, his fingers grazing her skin. Meera closed her eyes, her breath hitching at the intimate contact.

His touch was both gentle and electrifying, making her acutely aware of his presence.

As he tied the knot, his fingers lingered on her back for a moment longer than necessary which neither he realized nor did Meera try to get away with.

She felt his breath near her ear, warm and enticing. Meera’s body responded instinctively, leaning slightly back into him.

"I'm sorry" he said. "for what?" she hesitantly asked. "for what I'm about to do"

Sidharth’s hand moved to her shoulder, and he softly caressed her skin, sending a jolt of warmth through her.

Lost in the moment, he leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to her shoulder.

Meera’s breath caught in her throat. The sensation of his lips on her skin was overwhelming, stirring emotions she had been trying to suppress.

She could feel his heartbeat against her back, quick and steady.

"Sidharth," she whispered, her voice trembling. He didn’t respond with words.

Instead, he placed another kiss on her shoulder, this one lingering longer. Meera’s eyes fluttered shut as she felt his lips move closer to her neck, his breath hot and tantalizing.

She didn't try to get away, she wasn't uncomfortable.

Just as he was about to kiss her neck, the sound of someone calling his name broke the spell.

Rohan called out, "Sidharth! Kahan ho yaar?"

Sidharth jerked back, reality crashing in. Meera quickly stepped away, her face flushed with a mix of emotions.

"Uh, main bas... aa raha hoon," Sidharth called back, his voice shaky.

He turned to Meera, both of them looking flustered. "Sorry... mujhe chalna chahiye."

Meera nodded, avoiding his gaze. "Haan, main bhi..."

As they parted ways, the tension between them lingered, leaving both of them confused and flustered.

Later that night,

back in her room, Meera sat on her bed, staring at her phone. She had received another message from her father.

"This is your last chance, Meera. Agree to the marriage or your career is over. Stop disappointing us."

Meera’s heart sank. She knew she couldn’t give up her dreams, but the thought of disappointing her parents weighed heavily on her.

Just then, there was a soft knock on her door. It was Sidharth.

"Can I come in?" he asked, his voice gentle.

Meera nodded, wiping away her tears. "Sure."

"uh- I just came to give you these papers, I have reviewed and wrote my feedback on them" He said, still awkward from their earlier conversation.

Until he saw her face, he sat down next to her. "Tum theek ho, Meera?"

Meera forced a smile. "I’m fine. Bas thoda stress hai."

Sidharth looked at her, his eyes filled with concern. "why are you lying darling?"

Meera sighed, feeling the weight of her emotions pressing down on her. "Sidharth, it’s just... family stuff. It’s complicated."

Sidharth placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Meera, agar tum share karna chahti ho toh main sunne ke liye yahan hoon."

Meera felt a lump in her throat. She had never been good at opening up, but something about Sidharth’s presence made her want to confide in him.

"i just feel like I'm never enough for my parents.."

Sidharth’s eyes widened in shock. "what?? why would you think that"

Meera shook her head, feeling tears well up again. "i dont just think..i know it..they have always hated my career path. I don’t know. Unhe lagta hai ki meri priorities galat hain.

....and they think if I accept what they have asked from me..woh sab cheez unke liye sab kuch sahi kar degi."

Sidharth’s grip on her shoulder tightened. "Meera, why are you going through all this? Tumhari life, tumhare decisions."

Meera wiped her tears. "I know. But it’s not that simple. Kehna aasan hai but karna mushkil..I’ve always tried to make them proud, but nothing seems to be enough."

Sidharth looked at her, his expression fierce. "Meera, your dreams are important too. You are doing great you know"

Meera’s heart swelled at his words. For the first time in a long while, she felt understood. "Thank you, Sidharth."

He leaned in closer, his voice soft. "Meera, i dont know what they have asked from you but whatever you decide is completely upto you."
