For the first time in forever, Michelle and Beyoncé spent their morning at Kierra and Kelly's house. With the couple deciding to leave with them, Michelle and Beyoncé decided to help the couple pack. Beyoncé's motivation behind helping the couple pack was for the sake of being a good friend. Michelle, on the other hand, only agreed to help the couple pack for the sake of leaving on time. She was determined to leave on Sunday; she couldn't care less if the couple was packed or not.
As the morning progressed, Beyoncé cheerfully folded clothes and carefully placed them into suitcases, chatting with Kierra and Kelly about their upcoming trip. Her infectious enthusiasm kept the mood light, making the task seem less daunting.
Michelle, meanwhile, worked with a single-minded focus. She moved briskly through the house, tossing items into bags with little regard for organization. Her goal was clear: get everything packed as quickly as possible. She glanced at her watch frequently, a reminder of her determination to stick to the schedule.
"Michelle, you might want to slow down a bit," Beyoncé said gently, noticing her friend's hurried pace. "We don't want to forget anything important."
Michelle huffed but nodded, slowing her pace slightly. "Fine, but we need to stay on track. Sunday is our deadline."
Kierra and Kelly exchanged amused glances but appreciated the help. They knew Michelle's determination, while intense, came from a place of caring, albeit indirectly.
By midday, most of the packing was done. Beyoncé suggested they take a break and enjoy some lunch together. Michelle reluctantly agreed, knowing a short break might actually help them finish faster in the long run. As they sat down to eat, the conversation shifted to their upcoming plans and even Michelle found herself relaxing a bit. However, the peace eventually ended as Michelle remembered the conversation she had with Karen the other day.
"Kierra, we have to talk to you about your decision to move with us. Your mother stopped by yesterday and asked us to convince you that you're making a mistake," Michelle said, causing Kierra to sigh and Kelly to roll her eyes.
"I knew this was coming," Kierra muttered, setting down her fork. "My mother always thinks she knows what's best for me."
Kelly put a reassuring hand on Kierra's arm. "It's okay, baby, don't even stress about her. We knew there would be pushback, Kierra. Still, we've made our decision."
Beyoncé looked between them, her brow furrowed in concern. "Kierra, are you sure this is what you want? We just want to make sure you're happy and doing what's best for you."
Kierra took a deep breath, her resolve evident. "I'm sure. Kelly and I have thought this through. We need this change. It's a fresh start for us, away from all the expectations and pressures here."
Michelle sighed, her earlier determination softening. "I get it, I really do. But your mom was pretty upset. She feels like you're rushing into this without considering the consequences."
Kierra nodded. "I understand her concerns, but this is something I have to do. We both do. We're ready for this."
Kelly squeezed Kierra's hand. "We appreciate you guys looking out for us, really. But we've made up our minds. It's time for us to take this step and we are very happy to be taking it with you."
Beyoncé smiled, her support clear. "If this is what you both want, then we're with you all the way. We are also very happy to have you guys come with us."
Michelle nodded. "Yes, I wouldn't have asked you all to come if I didn't want you to."
Kierra smiled, her gratitude evident. "Thank you, Michelle. Thank you, Beyoncé."
